Lies

Why do I lie? I usually lie to avoid trouble with people I should really never lie to. I also do it to not feel stupid when I take an action i didn't think through. I overtalk and wind up f,ing myself in the end. Today,I was thinking that if I have a n urge to lie I should instead just not speak. If I stop and think first i will realize that what I was going to say is not what I want to put out in the world. My words have consequence and lies just make everything I say suspect.
