letting off steam.

getting mad doesn't help.  so why do i feel like somebody turned on all my burners?  i went outside to trim the ivy growing up around a pine tree.  it's surrounded by a big circle of ivy......so there i was, trimmer in hand, and after a round of ring around the rosy i fell down.  into the ivy......it's nice & soft.  not hurt, just mad......i trimmed and pulled and yanked at the ivy.....then saw the ivy clambering up two more trees.  the ivy is pretty, but if it climbs up trees it will kill them, thus creating the perfect storm for crashing  trees........who needs that?  NOBODY!

there is a festival in our village today.......to celebrate that we are 125 years old!  tah dah!  crafts, jeep & tractor rides.....a BBQ contest.....music, the whistlestop shops will be open.....(selling handmade artisan crafts/good coffee and treats) ...there will be booths selling a variety of wares......will i go?  doubtful.

bruce is next door mowing the neighbor's lawn, he  wagged his finger at me and hollered at me to SIT DOWN.....he would come over and do whatever i need doing.  it's a problem, i want to do, my body doesn't want to......the pollen is thick.  it's a dark yellowy green, my tailbone is covered in the stuff.  it's hard to breathe with all that stuff floating through the air.  i don't want to know the pollen count, i can SEE IT!  i pulled a really big dandelion....felt almost guilty cause it was so big.....takes a lot of time to become a giant weed.....but yeah, i yanked that sucker and tossed it high into the air.

i stood and looked longingly at the dirt bed where i want to plant the bulbs.  then sat down like an old lady.  resignation, regret and common sense all rolled into one.  now that i've been blooming where i'm planted i worry about the day when i am settled into an apartment, will i only feel relief?  doubtful.......it will be relief and a time to mourn.  i love seeing the fruit of my gardening labors after these 7 years.  the yellow lillies are blooming, the coreopsis is waving in the wind.....an orangey yellow daisy looking flower....so happy!  the climbing roses are covered in tiny deep red blooms.......the irises are beautiful.  deep purples, soft yellows.....i need to get out of here for awhile.  a pedicure would be good.......but i think no, i'll wait.

somebody come get me, take me outta here.............i got a refund check from my orthopedist for $50.  yay!  i would love to go swimming right now......float on my back and look up at the clouds.  how old are my kitties?  hmmmm....

got annie in the fall of 2009......she was probably about six weeks old, in case you don't know the story someone dumped her in the office parking lot......just dumped sweet annie making her an orphan.  i was nominated as most likely to need a kittims.....so i reluctantly took her in.....even tho' my heart was melting.  she would get up on my desk area......and swat at my fingers as i typed......she would lay on my arms when she wanted me to stop......she was a green eyed heart breaker.......so easy to fall in love.  we got on like peas & carrots.....as Forest Gump would say.

then shortly before mothers day ...but which mother's day?...i got rio.  silly laid back gorgeous rio.  annie is a pretty tabby cat.....rio is dark charcoal gray, sleek with a white marking at the throat.  that first week i thought annie would murder rio.  i put a small litter box in the far corner of my bedroom.....kept rio in there.......and each day i moved the litter box and food/water a bit closer to my bedroom door.......by sunday, one week to the day annie was eyeing rio warily, i think she had gotten more used to his scent but still wasn't crazy about this interloper in her territory.  by sunday afternoon they begain batting each other.....playfully, no hissing.....and i remember letting my breath out and thinking it's going to be alright.  ahhhhhhhh.

see i'd been having terrible flares on top of flares and poor sweet annie was depressed.  when i am normal sick she lies at the end of the bed.....when the pain/illness worsens she comes closer and closer to me, sometimes lying against my legs or arms, when i'm super sick she lies on the other side by the pillows.  she keeps watch......!  she's a love.

rio on the other hand......hello, rio is a comedian.  he'll never become a serious cat.  a prince....he'll always be a court jester.  he likes to hurl himself onto my lap......look up longingly......never breaking eye contact until i give in and pet him.  if i stop too soon, he again stares longingly ...... makes me think of sam malone from cheers at times!

annie loves to be petted on her neck and head.....she will nudge my hands into action.  come up beneath them as if she's saying LET's Go lady......if i tuck my hands under the covers she will come under and encourage me to come back to the surface to complete petting her........and she LOVES being brushed.  so funny, i didn't try cause well i thought she would hate it........getting brushed causes her to preen and all but swoon.......such a queen of the realm!

my glands are still not letting up.  i'm thinking the pollen/rain isn't helping me any.....the funny thing is that i'm not having many problems with sinus pressure in my forehead or face.......not that i'm complaining, it's just unusual.  but i do get the sneezes.....hee yah!  3 to 6 in a row......do you ever sneeze when you walk out into the sun?

can you tell i have cabin fever???? i can............i need to go tell bruce that the shelving unit came down and see what he thinks....love ya lots, talk again soon!

AGH! Sounds like a lot of work. Yuck! Yeah, I can tell you have cabin fever. And no, I don't think I sneeze when I walk out into the sun. I'll have to pay more attention. Love you.

Annie and Rio sure sound adorable with all their antics. I enjoyed reading about them. Ooops. Sorry you fell on your butt but glad you didn't hurt yourself or break something. All your flowers sure do sound beautiful. Ain'

Bruce is a treasure! He keeps his eye on you. But, I totally get that you want to do the work yourself - it's life enhancing to work in the yard and see a job done from start to finish. I am glad you did not hurt yourself with the tumble into the ivy. Annie is so sweet - she has never forgotten how you rescued her and now she want's to rescue you when you are doing badly. And Rio needs to keep your spirits up with his antics. Such great fur kids.
