Lessons from communal living
Honestly the monastery is just a place where humans deal with the same animal natures and needs that we all have, just in a very different way. With a different emphasis let's say. I definitely need a space here and friends where I can have my own kind of relationships rather than this cutting catty bullshit they serve here at times. It's not fun today. I want my own place.

i believe i learned more from communal living (military, hostals and volunteer centers) than any other adventure in my life. perhaps the single most important thing i learned is how to maintain safe social distances from that catty bullshit humans so often deal out. the catty bullshit dramas are one of those places where more is not usually merrier.
I highly recommend not being around people like that. You can love them from a distance....hugs
