lessons

I am starting to get a glimpse of some truths

about my own and different lives of friends... I think we may try to live

in a kind of way that we're happy about in our lives

and then when we come into contact with others who

share some of your values - but confusingly may be

different in really significant ways -

though we may respect things about

them -

it just comes

to me to accept that 'we do share things' and do respect each other but have

definitely have different temperaments - and in that understanding you kind

of need to make room for that - at least I mean I do - and it

heals up the confusion...and I can still be into what I like and still I feel a part of community...

After my hurt feelings this past Wednesday and after a gratitude for my

small, safe life in a really big way ...I now am again - remembering to see that gratitude at this moment

that cherished feeling for what I have - my cherished small life - much to be grateful for -

and so that FOCUS is something to come back to and respect about my own life.

I think a kind of pressure may exist to be kind of aspiring or measure up -

but I am recognizing that taking care of my life and respecting my own

life is something that will bring health and fruitful efforts and attitudes.!

This isn't meant to sound judgey - but I think to live in community - it doesn't

mean we all need to be the same - and still it's important we can still feel love

and joy in all the many different stuff we bring and still be friends. Does this make sense?

I feel appreciation in a different way now.

and this was very much about me accepting my own temperament as well.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas, Mark. Everybody wants to feel they matter and feel significant, in different ways and different measures. I feel that, too, but in possibly different ways than you.

to my senses, it is downright counterproductive for a community to be comprised of identical people. cars would never get fixed in a community of just doctors. philosophers would go hungry without the farmers. etcetera, etceteri.

i like to celebrate diversity as if my life depends on it. i doesn't gotta like you to respect your value in the grand scheme, whether i understand that value or knot.

Right on, Mark! I always feel awkward and weird that my life is abnormal around old time friends from back home, just as an example, but when I get to talking to them, they value me and want to hear about my very different life and qualities and things I do. In community, it’s the same. The joy of everyone bringing something different to the mix is so incredibly valuable and worth so much. I agree with Arfie, who wants identical people? This is the kind of stuff that truly celebrates what life is all about. Diversity makes the world go round.

Merry Christmas, Joyeux Noel y Feliz Navidad!!
