Learning to live in wellness

Recently I had a complete breakdown- depression got so deep I could not function.  I found myself in the behavior health unit so numb and hopeless.  Only thing the unit did for me was give me a break from all the worry and stresses in my life.  After a week in the unit I was discharged to a partial inpatient program.  It was a game changer for me.  I learned and practiced relaxation techniques, was able to discuss my issues with others, and learned more about keeping myself well.  Now the challenge is to continue with these things.

Another thing is I have found my spirituality.  I have come out of the broom closet.  Yes I am Wiccan and an animist too.  For those that don't know, Wiccans do not worship the devil- we don't believe in him.  Animist believe everything in nature (and some manmade things) have a spirit deserving of respect.  I have started to celibate the Wheel of Year holidays (we have some great holidays) and embracing the God and Goddess daily.   It has helped open my eyes to the beauty of the world and appreciation of calm places.  I now feel more connected to the world around me.  I practice small rituals each day and it reminds me that there is no one or no thing is in the world without a purpose.
