learning so much I feel so lucky
things here are good.
there's a nun here who I think might be schizophrenic.
She has a seriously hard time dealing with other people.
She is very needy - but turns on others and mocks them for
being sensitive or having need.
Anyways - I find myself just supporting her as it's her condition.
The Abbess said she is in constant prayer-
chaos exists for a lot of us, every day. Who knows her past
She has strengths and perseverance.

I don't find her pleasant but she's a sister here and so I keep her supported
but in a box so to speak.
That’s what I would do too
I feel like I am learning about myself in the way that I see the world when I am with others and as well when I am alone.
I've spent so much time alone in my life - it's been kind of a shift to the unconscious cozy and picturesque realm when I've come back
to my room - now I am trying to give that cognitive awareness. I don't know why I have this nun on my mind.
She's a jerk - but she also reminds me that people aren't perfect and I can't go into the realm of life is perfect
when I am alone - I need to think about things in a whole -homeopathic way -
thanks sunshine!
Knowing what I know now, I tend to think of schizophrenic as being a gifted psychic who can pull in energy from other dimensions. Others might disagree but I just see too many parallels.
God Bless
Thanks Bob
high on my list of bennies i've received from psychotherapy --most especially the portions within my peer support network-- is the ability to see disagreeable behavior as a symptom of pain and a cry for help, alongside my ability to do what i can and let the rest go when confronted with troubled behavior. i'm not there to psychoanalyze or fix anybody. i'm only there to ease the pain when i can. that brings me far more peace and serenity than the judgemental psychoanalyzing.
i'll second bob's notion that schizophrenia being an indicator of psychic gifts. schizophrenia runs in my family, including my departed son. as horrifying as the psychotic episodes can be, their spiritual/philosophical depths can be quite profound during the more rational phases. i am among the historians who believe martin luther was schizophrenic. "schizophrenic" wasn't even a word when he was showing the roman catholics the error of their ways.
Schizophrenia was a main illness that I worked with when I worked in mental health and it can be a terrible illness for a person to have as well those who love them
People can be so tormented by this disease
I haven't seen a lot of good come from it
Hopefully meds, talk therapy and other tools help
I hope that your tolerance and support is something she feels Marky

Your ability to accept the method of management she uses is so important in your work with her. Here's to success.
