learning better
learning a better way to deal with things. I came home from the office and did some errands and then went to the bakery to grab a coffee. Getting the coffee is pretty much a daily thing for me. The coffee is good - and going out and being around people is great too. I mentioned that while at the job this morning my mind went wonky - and after I came home and drank the coffee - I thought about this. I started to feel the sting of missed connections with the people at the bakery. I felt singled out - which seems to happen to me - I felt a victim of my mind's lability and somehow theorized I am always singled out because of MI and not perfect...and started to 'amp up' feeling I was different. BUT better so, I just decided to kind of owned it.
I thought I just need to manage my emotional life - different as it may be - individual more like it - - do my best - and keep moving forward. Everyone has to manage their feelings - some have more stability than others. Every body is managing something - has a life to manage -a disability for some too - and as you go through it every day - there's management. So like not connecting with the bakery workers and feeling like it's because I am different whatever!.. I concluded I really couldn't care less. I am trying the best I can and in fact I didn't really do anything wrong - they're just kind of who they are - and I get along with the manager there - so it's all good. Now I am at home and feeling just fortified and affirmed that I am just managing myself and watching some tv and having snacks before I go out to yoga.
I don't know if people think that some how in therapy a magical epiphany will come to them and they'll more into a new person. I think I probably thought that - I think what I have REALIZED though is that it (therapy) is teaching me 'this is reality - and this is what I have to get familiar with managing." I own it - it may suck at times as I know I am different - but we're all managing something and still living life - working and playing - living and loving. Namaste guys! xoxox

How weird is it that familiarity freaks so many 21st century people out? I used to think I was a weird for this psychotick, but I've had friends in retail and food service that they worry about driving off their regulars by recognizing them. Have we developed a need for internet anonymity?
A quality I believe education and psychotherapy have in common is that you get out of it what you put into it. It works if you work it but ya gotta work it or you are just throwing your money away. Healing and learning are both inside jobs.
Thanks Arfie
I hear you re emotions Marky..... Sometimes those things suck!!!...… I can have huge problems with anxiety at times
I haven't been in therapy for years and I wish that I could be.... Financially I can't manage it.... When I found that it helped me as a great tool to more insight into me and also to help managing some emotion...
I had that person with a lot of understanding to go to and that alone really helped.... Big hug LC.... xo
thanks Jan!!!
