Kindred
I go into the night. Cool and clear the sky is open above me. Each star that is visible is brilliant. The large disc reflecting Sol. Sol the giver of life. Moon the reflector that lights the darkness. It pulls at the waters. The tides moving up and down with the effects of its gravity. I stand in the quiet but not quite. The crickets chirp. Something stirs in the brush. A fish jumps in the water. And far far away she calls. A mournful high pitched howl. My head tilts skyward. My call goes out at its highest volume. Then all is still. I listen till she responds. My lonesome spirit stirs. She is like me. We are alike and meant to know each other. I head in her direction. The long journey will test and could even break me. But I must find her.
