Ken's Children
Tomorrow some of the family will be heading to Al to go to the new Star Trek movie. Ken was a Star trek/ Star Wars nut and I do mean nut. I don't think he ever missed the first showing of these movies. He was really so bad that after I drove 17 hours to visit they were gone and to make it worse I was so sick with the flu. I sat in thr car forever it seemed then his neighbor asked if I waned to come in gladly I did. Finally four hours later Ken and family come house. By then being so sick and a bit upset I was totally ready to go home. Where had they been. Of couse that day was the opening of one of those "Star" movies. Like I said he was a true fan. As he was pasing away my husband (his step-father) told him to save a chair next to him in Heaven so when he gets there they will watch them together again. So tomorrow we will make a 12 hour journey back and forth to watch the new Star movie. We wish it wa the first showing but we will share with the kids and have our memories of Ken with us. I am sure there will be some tears stinging the eyes as we watch and remember. It will once again be a bitter swet journey. Just so you know I am not a fan of the shows but they played many hours in our home...it will be the beginning for cloosure for my son Brent as he has been back since Ken went to Heaven. Something he has wanted to do for the last three plus years.
We will talk and share our great memories with Ken's children and remember the good times before God called him Home.
Ken, my sweet child, my sweet son. How much you are loved. How much you are missed. How I miss our times together. But one day we will be a family again. Until then my love and kisses are being sent to you in Heaven. I leve you. You mom forever and ever....mom

Hope you have fun at the Star Trek movie - although it will be bittersweet, I\'m sure you will have some wonderful moments to share, and make some good memories for Ken\'s children too. Take care ~ Joanna x
What a wonderful way for the family to honor Ken.
Andrew was in Grade 2 when the first Star Wars movie came out. He didn\'t quite get to the opening but he was the first kid in his school to see it. He liked to draw and got bored in school so he would draw the characters on the back of work sheets. When we went for the parent teacher interview, Mrs. Smith was worried that Andrew might have a psychological problem. She was relieved when we explained what he was drawing! Lisa\'s daughter is also a Star Wars and Dr. Who fan.
Enjoy the time together - laugh and cry - I am sure Ken will be there with you!

That\'s good. I am glad you can share those memories and enjoy the new Star Trek movie with your family. I can certainly understand how it will feel without your boy there to enjoy them himself. You have to be feeling brave to do those special meaningful l things. Good on you ! xxxx Love ,Kriss
