keeping track of the days, calling this one Wednesday.

on my own.......

i'm hosting a mini celebration......i just made my bed......fresh top and fitted sheet in baby blue.  Ahhhhhhh, then the comforter, it's made of of shades of blue, gray, taupe, white and cream.....the pillow shams match and two of the standard size pillows wear the same baby blue pillow cases.  so much effort to make a bed......then i folded the blue bedspread in half, it's a thick gauzey blue material.....and laid it across the end of the bed.  next is pillow time.  i placed the four main pillows against the whtie headboard.....then added all the little pillows.

pillow babies add comfort for the pain of fibromyalgia and arthritis.  they really do help.  2 microbead pillows, two neck pillows, a cervical pillow with a handmade pillowcase, a soft bolster pillow in white.......and then i place a twin blanket (also in soft blue) across my side of the bed.  i keep it folded in half as wide as possible to give me a great napping blankie......it's nice and long, cozy and so soft.  happiness comes in waves with the added soft, cozy, comforting, wondrous lovely warmth and safety all these layers bring to my bed nest.

if this is something you do you get it, if you don't it's worth it to make your bed a safe, secure resting sanctuary.  it's the bomb......when my first born son was growing from toddler hood into little boy off to kindergarten......i told him that his bed was the most awesome, best......most comfortable bed in all the world.  i told him that EVERYBODY wanted his bed.  it would provide the best dreams, keep him warm, make him feel easy as he rested his tired eyes so he could take on a full day of adventures the next day.  he chose Snoopy/Charlie Brown bedding......made him sooooo happy........when it was time for bed if he faltered in wanting to go to bed his Dad & I would exchange looks and say, "Yay, tonight one of us gets to sleep in the greatest bed in the WORLD.......!" and we would race each other for the stairs, yet allowing him to get in between, around and through us to beat us everytime to that special cozy place......his own nest.  His own place of dreams and rest........

My son never argued about not wanting to go to bed, he might take a moment to adjust his time to bedtime, but he never got crabby or mad or pitched a fit........he was happy to go to his bed.  HAPPY!!!!!!  We noticed other parents always talking about how their kids never wanted to go to bed, that it was a real problem, nightly tantrums and such.......we would get quiet......not wanting to sound like whoop te doo parents, make anyone feel bad or anything.....but we would talk about it......my thoughts/ideas on parenting vs. what we heard.

enough of all that for now.....I emptied the dishwasher.  check.  I did the breakfast dishes.  check.  I tided the kitchen counters.  check.  there is a happy little squirrel in the back yard hunting for his lunch......finding buried acorns everywhere.  acorns aplenty.....as there are three giant oaks in the front.  he'll never want for hunger ..........

call it a good day and go watch Primal Fear......so far it's pretty intense.  Richard Gere, Edward Norton, and Laura Linney......later, hugs!

Wow, your bed sounds wonderful! My kids used to give me a terrible time about going to bed, but not now. Now, they like to sleep. Love you, girl.
