Keeping busy

Today is a bit of a weird day. I am keeping busy which is keeping me from falling into that horrible pit but I know if i stop or think too much I'll be there. I am all alone in the house all day. DD took the baby and went visiting for the day... bf was here (surprise visit) for two nights and left this morning. usually I'm pretty sad when he goes but I'm feeling better about 'us' now and more comfortable with being apart so it was okay.  I know I'll see him again next week when I drive my daughter back to the airport.
I'm doing some housecleaning today which is good because the mess was really getting to me. I was gone for almost 2 weeks and my daughter and her bf didn't keep things up very well. I'm not cleaning up after them completely but certain things have to be done or I'll have to leave the house. Tomorrow when DD is back I will continue coaching her to get stuff done that should have been done already. I'm in this cleaning mode where I just want to clear stuff out, throw alot of stuff in the garbage and make everything tidy and smelling nice. I've been trying to encourage my dd to do more of the housework since she's the only one not working or going to school but that's not working so well. She does have the baby to look after but he spends alot of time sleeping or playing so she has some time to do other stuff. At 17 Idon't expect her to be a perfect housekeeper but she wants to move out on her own and she needs to know what its like to keep a house. It will come in time.
Going to do some more organizing now while the  sun is still shining. Can't wait to get out and ride my bike again...soon

Dear Lisa,
The best way to teach sometimes is just to do, like you end up doing anyways, and asking them to watch! lollol I know, I have raised a girl. Eric

i\'m glad you\'re feeling well :)

yeah definitely doing is the best form of teaching. you could also try just cleaning your entire area and leaving hers a mess, that way she\'ll be forced to clean it. :)
i wish you and your daughter all the best
