keeping an eye on the job I need to do

The monastery is so peaceful. It's literally like the movie "Brigadoon."

A separate kind of bubble of life. That being said it's taught me a lot

probably because of the peaceful, go at your own pace life....

Yesterday and today I thought about the word 'appropriate' and how people use that ultimately as a tool sometimes.

It's like the objectification of what a person feels about the nuance of a situation and how it feels or sits with them.

This may then turn into the hope of controlling the situation in the way they would like it - and so it begs that

someone buys into their vision and will then being cowed.

Don't forget your own standard and negotiating the point I say! :)

It's good for each of us to having access to our kind of

idea of how we think things should go and be -

having a sense of what we can feel good and comfortable

about with our actions is important.

It's a tool that has been used against me all my life - with my good and helpful nature -

and it really stunted my vision and capacity for my own life.

I know this probably sounds very general or very much a blanket statement

but in Europe and here at the monastery this exists this reality more within the context of human emotion and dignity it seems.

In the outside world here in the states - it seems more respectful of the job we each have to

do and managing our own 'play pen' and life.

That probably sounds a little judgey - but I find myself tonight. Just thinking

more clearly about keeping mindful of the job I need to do and feeling good about that.

I guess it's just taken a long while for me to wake up to certain things.

I don't know if this all seems way off - but if you could reflect on this insight, I'd love to hear

your thoughts.

is it appropriate to go sexist here and speculate that most of the contemporary men in the usa have been verily beaten over the head with the word, "appropriate" for their entire lives? i'm 71 and the women's lib lexicon which so adores that word came into vogue when i was in elementary school. seeing so many kind and gentle men who feel evil for challenging that lexicon gets me thinking we need some decisive men's lib action. how long you gonna put up with this, gentlemen?

meanwhile, the female sexual predators, etc., are getting away with murder. poor little helpless victims?
