Keep the Change, chapter one reflections.
The book "Keep The Change" by Dr. Tom Zimmerman, the end of chapter one asks that I re-read the chapter and summerize what I have learned. In chapter one, i learned that Change is truly inevitable. I also learned that change within yourself is often feared because of failure. Truly and honestly, people attempt to change for the wrong reasons, or dont fully commit themselves. To change yourself, you have to start with the inside, and stop the negative "stinking thinking." I beleive that is what the most of my issues come from. I constantly think negative about myself. With god's help, i can do this! so far, i have been positivly thinking about myself and my marriage.
Things i have been doing so far. I pray everyday multiple times. When i am upset for anything, i stop and pray. I read this book and the bible. I have started reading the scripture listed in the book as starting points. I have been doing the exercises. I have been really trying to think positive about this change. i will admit, i am scared of this. I have tried so hard to change before for myself and my wife, but obviously failed miserably, as my wife left me again. With that being said, however, i do feel more confident about this, as i am not doing it alone! God is with me and placed a lot of friends and people who have and are helping me out with this.
things i will continue to do. I will continue to pray. I will continue to read. I will continue to change myself. I will get the help that i need for me. I will show sarah that i respect her and love her. I will be a better father to my children, and i will be there for my family when they need me. I will continue to be smoke free! I do feel a lot better lately. I am getting refreshing sleep, i am not so grumpy or crabby lately. The medication and god has helped me out tremendously with that. I only contiue to pray that sarah sees this change, and wants to be with me for the new me, and not the old. I also pray that sarah does see this change, and offers to continue to help me change for the years to come. The old me is gone, not all the way, but it is getting there. Anybody else reading this, please pray for me and pray for my family.
