keep on keeping on

I have been looking at Blue this morning, more closely than usual.

Blue is the best thing that's happened to me in my immediate significant

other perspective in years and years. That being said, I have indulged him

with food, whenever he wants it and regrettably, through no fault but my own,

he has gotten quite chunky. Perhaps it's a pavlov dog thing - he knows what works

with me to get him what he wants. But I also thought about, when I resist

giving him food - he wails and wails for me to feed him. Is my own convenience

at not enduring his cries winning out over his health and well being???

That's a pretty important point.

After writing the last journal. I was sitting at the end of my bed - thinking about

Blue again - thinking about my efforts in life - wondering why Blue has such a resistance

to play and anything that's not too complicated. He loves food and rubs from me

but has a hard time with other cat stuff like playing with toys, boxes or bags. He does none

of that. He likes sitting at the top of the stairs or lying in my chair or bed - and thankfully

he does scratch away at the scratch post in my room.

I just suppose this is his nature to a certain extent. And with that thought I wondered about

my own nature. I am sure my family looks at me befuddled...why doesn't he keep more active

and engaged in life? "We can't do it for him!" and so it's just a poignant thought. I avoid things

I used to do when I was more viable as a professional adult in my 30s - because it smacks

of going down a dangerous path. But I think being here with Blue right now - and seeing his limit

of imagination - and my own stifling of my life- is helping me go beyond this and get busy.

Keep on keeping on.

All this stuff, that I spin away at, is bringing me to a basic cognitive plateau with others. Here I am in my room at the monastery wondering about stuff,( in part exploration of my life’s goals advancement )and I guess I am starting to wonder how can I keep a part of the action here in the now. What can I contribute amongst this group. I know when I’m home with my family and we’re all buzzing around getting dinner ready, i know we each look for a way to contribute. It’s human nature. So maybe if I remember that when thinking about my actions and activities here? Why not? I don’t know why I’m avoiding art. Nevermind

Bluey is the man...lol

He knows what gets him what he wants

You gave him a home from a rescue sweetie and I have no doubt he adores you

Cici doesn't really play much either but she loves walks

She loves her food as well.

Our babies

You keep so busy at the monestary

I don't think you ever have to worry about your contribution

You keep on keeping on!

Big squishy hug...xo

Animals are like that. They make us feel so good when they look at us with those big adorable eyes, we can't help but reward them for doing so. Our dogs are a little overweight also. The female australian shepard we have has her own blanket and I have to tuck her in every night. As soon as it gets dark, she will start crying and that's my cue, (like pavlov) to go get her blanket out of the closet and cover her over. She loves that and will fall right to sleep. God Bless our pets......hugs

Does Blue like the kids show Bluey? Hehe.

Our animal companions really are so significant in our lives. I turned the heat on for the first time of the season last night and Bella got so snuggly and fluffed. I had a healing snuggle/movie watching eve with her by my side and feel so lucky to have her in my life…as you do with Blue.

Does Blue like fishing toys with a stick? Bella loves those.

That’s great Nikki. Blue has no interest in any toy unless it involves food. I have a cat puzzle in which he can ferret out bits of kibble. The cat whip thing has lost his interest:(

How old is Blue? At around seven years old, a cat's energy level starts to decline. Their interest in playtime decreases, and they are more likely to gain weight.

Have you tried toys with catnip in them? My cats were never crazy about catnip, but some are.
