keep on keeping on
Well the Christmas holidays are behind us all. We had a good Christmas with the children and the relatives. We all ate TOO much and was so grateful to have another Christmas Day together.
You may have heard but the Carolinas got SNOW for Christmas day. Not had a white Christmas since 1947. Probably not see another in my lifetime. Church was canceled and we had the day by ourselves. Watched old Christmas movies and just stayed in our PJs all day long. I cooked a beef roast and just had a good day with my honey.
The new year is upon us and I am ready for it. 2010 is a memory in our minds. So many of our friends lost loved ones. I continue to pray for you. I admire your courage to live and go about what has to be done in your lives. I know it can't be easy and it could be mine turn next year, OR it could be Steve grieving ME, we just don't know. We all should cherish every moment and live each day, every day to the fullest.
We want to plan a special trip this year. July will be our 45 wedding anniversay and we may renew our vows wherever we go. We both want to go to Hawaii, it may be there. I just want and pray that Steve will continue to do well. Stable, I will take stable until the Lord just calls him home. 12 years and 4 months and counting. Thank you each for being my friend on this site. I come here daily, several times a day and I am here for YOU, if you want to talk. I have a good ear for listening.
I want to wish each of you a Happy New Year. It is my prayer that we can face it together and support each other when needed. Love and Prayers, Wanda

Thanks for your presence on DS... and for your prayers and your encouragement.
I think it is wonderful to plan a special trip.... and definitely do renew your wedding vows . I am so thankful Bob and I renewed our vows many years ago, on a Caribbean cruise. It was so very special!! I would marry that wonderful man over and over... God blessed us and I pray He will bless you always.

Dear Wanda, I am really looking forward to the New Year and the goals I\'ve set...you know I will be staying in close touch with you. I hope you really can get to Hawaii. M and I went for our 30th anniversary in 2005. It was the best memory for us. The best thing we did was to go on a boat and enjoyed dinner, entertainment and watching the sunset while out at sea. I\'ll second that Linda, The east part of the Carolinas didn\'t get the snow til the day after christmas, but we got the 3rd most snow here since they started keeping records. I\'m not careing if I see anymore record breakers.LOL it was pretty to look at, don\'t tell anybody I said that.

Your trip sounds like a great plan. Do IT! Spend as much time together as you can.
We had snow on Christmas Day! Yep, here in NE Alabama.....extremely unusual!! In fact, there is still snow in some of the shadier spots here. The old saying is \"if snow stays on the ground 3 days, then another snow is coming soon\". Well, it has been more than 3 days. We had snow earlier, can not remember if it was at the end of November or first of Dec. and snow was on the ground 3 days and longer, and we\'ve already had more snow!! That is VERY UNUSUAL for us here in ALA. The snow was beautiful on Christmas Day. It snowed all day and much of it did lay, but, part was blown on away by the wind.
I so hope that all of us here on DS will find Peace and Comfort and Joy in the coming new year of 2011.

Hi Darlin!
We are so fortunate to soon be entering a new year with our hubbies. How blessed we are! Take that trip to Hawaii. It\'s so gorgeous. We spent three weeks there in 1985, and loved every minute of it. We\'ll celebrate our 44th anniversary tomorrow, but would also love to plan something really special for our 45th. Where did all those years go?!! Each day together is such a gift.

Dear Wanda -- Thank you for your constant encouragement. I think that you should take that wonderful trip and renew your vows. Richard & I renewed our vows on our 20th anniversary and I\'m glad we did.

Sounds like a great plan and a wonderful trip. 45 years! We were also married in July, but we only got to celebrate 26. My daughter in law threw us a big \"surprise\" 25th anniversary party. My brother in law was using our address at the time and when she sent his invitation, Dan didn\'t realize it was addressed to his brother and opened it! So that blew the surprise, but it was still a wonderful time and I am so glad we had it. We didn\'t renew our vows, but that will be a wonderful thing to do!
