keep on

I have found again the measure of taking care of responsibilities to be really helpful
and I know that after last night's indulgences it's a good important thing to drink

lots of water today. I found myself thinking about what I should do with my time

after doing all my chores this morning - and couldn't think of what to do  - I felt a drilling down

on needing to do the socially significant stuff - or conversely just thought to completely and happily hermitize

here at home. 'Out there' seems so limited at times, only about consuming at times.

I know I have thought about 'exercising' and yet for some reason it seemed

like such a self punishing thing to do to myself - for one, I questioned this and realized it's because I am no longer

the young and super fit guy I once was - and I don't have to be an icon of the gym - giving the activity reasoning

I know it's good for me to go the gym in general - and so whereas it might not be a comfortable transition to go there

- a little bit of weighing the pros and cons of it is telling me it's

a healthy part of living. So often it seems I have tried to give everything a graceful momentum or been resistant

when it wasn't a natural flow of liking or not liking (I know I must sound incredibly spoiled)

and now I am realizing that it's important to just give things a moment of reasoning if I am having a really

hard time motivating to do certain things - this seems to have been something that I have been so able to

have when I am with my family and others - but on my own I have so often gotten caught up in grace or a free flow unimpeded forward motion.

Some things I will like more than others but a lot of it is about eating the vegetables like you were

when you were a kid. Some things just are good for you and are all a part of the journey of taking care of yourself.

I think if I just think of the unknown I can look at it like I am starting a new routine.
It takes a while to warm up to the new routine - and also if I do the routine so much
i can get caught up in a rut so to speak. I don't know why I have to pick things apart like this.
But it helps me keep on keeping on. or it's somehow a kind of need expelling from my insides.

It’s weird I don’t really think like most Los Angeles folks I think. Or maybe like most folks period.. With some contextualizing I feel like a member of society out here now.. Things are different on the east coast though which is where I am originally from. There are different priorities for sure. I couldn’t really make sense of it when I moved here as a kid but it kind of makes sense now. It might make sense to me to use that information to help me create a perspective of my own on the the things I choose to do.

Big hug Marky..... I really had to push myself re exercise as well.... I think a big part of the population does... Maybe a class might help?... I used to take 2 classes a week and I was in good shape but I haven't gone for way too long.... xo

Weird shit is good to reflect on! I follow you! Isn’t it interesting how geographically different we all are in personality and perspectives ? All my years of observation in the retail years were so amazingly insightful. Midwesterners are so Midwestern and New Yorkers are so New York and Californians so Californian. And my time in Europe, in France, I learned about so many local perspectives and demeanors traveling between Paris, the Alps and back to Normandy. I have an appreciation for it all and loved the conversations with so many….in museum work and airport work.

And when I travel, I always feel a sigh of relief when I’m home with that nasally chicago accent and gritty transit system.

Anyway, hope you are still enjoying the day. Snuggle cling from Bella to Blue!!

Yes, agree about fitness. I have had more aches and pains and try to do low impact stretches, but so so bad about disciplining myself into a routine. A class is a good idea…

just to add one bit more:
and when I come into circumstances or interactions where I lose a sense
of place I need to regroup personally and find my footing again.
Likewise with family relationships or other close to you - if those relationships
can't always support your sense of 'needing to know your place in the world"
then you need to find strength in community - like right here.
I'm finding a sense of inner strength in understanding my specific frailties.
Yet I also know I have to make my way in the world as I am doing.
