kee-RASH!

So my 2 day crash turned into 2 weeks flat on my back, sleeping 20+ horus per day.  Still weak and shaky but happy to be back on my feet.

Was really surprised by the crash as I had been taking it really easliy, leaving work early and sleeping all weekend.  Been doing some research and I think the crash was brough on by the Plaquenil.  Found this quote somewhere..

Patients taking antimalarial drugs similar to chloroquine may develop muscle weakness, reports Drugs.com. Muscle weakness, fatigue and decreased reflexes are a progressive side effect associated with many antimalarial drugs. The drugs cause these symptoms by causing changes within the blood vessels leading to the muscles. As more of the drug enters the system muscles can become damaged by the medication. The muscle weakness and fatigue begins mildly, but may quickly progress to a more debilitating disorder.

Can you believe this?  So my doctor has had me poisoning myself for the last three months.  I wish that at a minimum I had been given a heads up about how debilitating the treatment would be, I have experienced so much guilt and frustration over my declining condition, not knowing it was a direct effect of the drug I was on.  My ESR is improved so mabe the treatmetn is working.  Which means I'll ahve to do it again.  Not looking forward to it, but I am looking forward to being well.
