Just venting..
I'm just venting, my X drives me crazy, our son is a pretty good kid, he just won't get his act together about school, lies and tries to BS his way, could be so much worse. It only gets ugly when he gets disrespectful with me.. I have tried to keep his Dad in the picture telling him about his behavior asking for his input and assistance raising him. He comes around says he agrees with what consequenses should be, agrees to follow the same consequenses at his house. We sat down and discussed that he should be grounded this last weekend for not doing what he was supposed to do for getting ugly about it.. Well in true fashion X/Dad didn't follow thru Son wasn't grounded. My son called me Sunday to say Hi, I could tell something was up and he told me about not being grounded, that he was sorry, and he felt bad about it he asked if he could come home so he could be grounded as they were going to a Super bowl party. my son told his Dad he just didn't feel right about it and wanted to come home, my X/Dad said, don't worry, I make the rules your going with me, my son told him he still had homework to do. X/Dad said you can do it when you get home, son said No I think I need to go home. X/Dad brought him home. I'am very proud of my son for making it a priority to keep his word. I loathe my X for being such a disapointment and for being so disrepectful. to both me and my son. I wrote X/Dad a letter stating that I did not feel it was beneificial for me to continue to reach out for his input or assitance regarding Connor. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. My son's behavior is exactly the same as his Dad's. disrespectful, not doing what you say not being a man of your word. I don't want to contribute any longer to it. Its not OK, I won't have it, so by setting the boundries with X I am hoping my son sees that it's not ok and will refrain from doing the same. I don't like to berate my X. No matter what, I do or say he'll still be his Dad. But I can try and show him that certain behaviors are just not acceptable. I am finding that settting boundries, is good for me....
