just trying to not get too

Last night and this morning did indeed make me pause about the New Year's Eve

and day in greater intensity. I have spent it alone but reached out via emails, texts and phone calls just to

wish all my loved ones a Happy New Year. I am well aware of my being alone...

and last night it made me want a cat or a pet so that we would keep each other from

being alone. I just think the holiday probably heightened my sense of the milestone of it.

I am trying to keep framed in that to keep steady. Last night and this morning, I seemed to feel like I was

putting 'a foot wrong' nearly all over and yet I think the solitude of such a 'day as this' is what's

making me agitated more than usual. I am thankful for today and all my friends here and everywhere.

I feel lucky and blessed and happy. My mind at times feels so unwound that I feel nauseous with sickness

but I know to keep as orderly as I can - and try to muster up the vision to find things to do beyond the practical. I did go for a long walk, got a starbucks and walked back. Things are good.

Sending peace and good kharma your way. Today is a gift! Let's see it as the opportunity it IS!!! :)

thanks.

For reasons I can't fully explain and don't care to defend, I find great comfort in knowing that the most sophisticated of high tech auto-pilot systems are only on course about 5% of the time. 95% of their time and resources are devoted to getting back on track, yet they still manage to reach their destinations with admirable precision. Whatever the whys of the comfort, that little fact helps me be more gentle and tolerant of my own missed guesses and imbalances. I'd still rather be on a sure and accurate course 100% of the time, but my human flaws don't need to be show-stoppers. Nor do those human flaws diminish the gift of today, not even when I am lost and/or suffering.
