Just to keep in touch

Each time I try to write a journal entry, it becomes much too long and involved.  I haven't been on here in a while because I had to do some healing in different ways.  This site and all of you are a tremendous help to me and I do want to come back and contribute as well.   I pray each day for each of you and your struggles through this pain of estrangement.
Our move to almost an hour away from where we lived has been good for us. We love the condo we found and will probably purchase it and stay where we are.  The people are friendly and that means so much.  The people of our congregation are welcoming, supportive and gracious.  We have more good days than bad through our volunteering at 2 places.  As we give to others, we can refocus on them and our blessings and joy.  God leads us along the path He has chosen if we stay open to Him which is most important.
Our ES is no longer the focus of our lives.  We do see the grandchildren about once a month which we understand is a true blessing.  With our backing away from our ES, we find that he is a bit more cooperative.  He has unblocked communication and posts pics and messages about the GC and their activities.  Of course we aren't invited but that is also a form of accepting that we at least get to see pictures, etc.  We have found that in our situation, not applying pressure and attention is a healthy thing.  Of course the GF's family is all that really matters but once we learn to accept things as they are and be grateful, things change so much in our hearts and heads that keep us contented.  It has taken quite a lot to get this far but we are making progress.  The change comes from within and through our God.
I am so grateful for all the care and support this site and it's people give and have given to me and I do want to try to help others.  It doesn't mean all of our days are full of sunshine but we are making progress.  May God bless and be with all of us.  In Christian love

I too entered a season of acceptance that can only come from the Lord. May God continue to bless you.

So happy to hear from you. Life isn\'t perfect but what is? I too found peace when I stopped applying pressure. I think it\'s wonderful that you have time with your grandchildren. Who knows what will happen when enough time passes. May God be with you too.
