Just Tired

I'm getting nearer the breaking point now.  Stress at work, the boss always wanting more money.    It's the way of a sales career.  I work eleven hour days, constantly running around.  Then I get home and dad still wants money.  Money, money, money,  it's an obsession with everywhere I go.  And I'm going opposite, seeing how money destroys.  Dad and I were never close, but now we're bitter enemies.  All because he won't rest until he gets the last dime from the money my husband left.
I just need a break somewhere in the day where money doesn't enter the equation.
The silver lining:  I'm baking cookies, stretching my food dollars because the more I see the greed around me,  the more I don't want to be a part of it.  So now I shop with the smallest cart available--I don't want to see the large, giant-sized cart grocery stores provide.  I see the people, piling them high with food they don't need and the millions of tons of uneaten food that will follow  and the calories wrapped arount the waist line of those unfortunate enough to fall for the lie that that pizza roll, or that cake will make you feel better.  It keeps us fat.  It keeps the stores beyond the money they actually need.  Did you know Jenny Craig is owned by Nestle?  Yes, they fatten us up then charge a fortune to take it off.
Anyhow, I used to eat a whole package of cookies, but now I eat 4 home-made cookies.  I refuse to become the greedy, money-hungry people I see everyday.  I refuse to put money before love, respect, God.  I refuse to fill my belly till I can't stand up so that I can pay for high-hospitilaztion cost and over-charged insurance.  And right now I'm thinking the Amish got it right.

As we accept reality and the \'lessons\' it has to teach to us we may adapt to life and live better. I\'m so very glad you are learning these lessons while you are still able to work and earn a living. Save up just as much money as you can in interest earning CD\'s so if you ever become as I am now you will not have to worry about homelessness. After my husband died in 03 I was left severely disabled and alone where I also now face poverty from not being able to locate needed help with my survival here in my home outside of my disabled widows benefits, which do not cover the cost of house repairs, so I am left here alone without having even a working bathtub for the past four years. I suffer alone and am often ill in bed because even county social workers are blind to the true trauma I daily face neglected and ill. I even recently met a DS friend who lives about 50 miles away from me and he offered to meet with me to HELP me in this crisis. He is newly retired and we were \'friends\' here on DS but when he met me in person he responded with a follow up message on how glad he was to meet me and how he knew i was really doing good at helping myself and he then offered to be of \'spiritual\' help to me. Here I met with him for breakfast using my walker and cane and instead of the promised help after he met with me he offers spiritual help which he NEVER had to meet me in person for at all to provide me with revealing he perhaps did not care for how truly ill I was in \'real life\' and decided I was not his \'type\' of friend so now I know rejection and the pain of continuing to be left alone in severe crisis. He does not even respond to me as his DS friend any longer and that hurts very much as it tells me he saw me and determined on my looks of being so ill he wanted nothing to do with me which I face this reality every day of my life where I am left totally alone and so very ill.

Save your money well and have it earn interest to allow you a trouble free time if you become disabled or ill and cannot work any longer. This is a terrifying reality which often makes me wish I were dead and put out of such misery.

The Amish have much of it right in a simple, practical lifestyles but here in our world money is everything and needs to be stuffed away into interest earning CD\'s in case crisis strikes and we are left, as I am now, alone without the ability to work where no one cares if I am dead or alive.

((hugs))

I always wanted a simple life and not accumulate with material possessions even food. It makes so much sense to me to keep it simple in every area of our lives. This world commercialism, buying, eating etc all to the excess is never good for anyone. The world makes money. I am so sorry you are pushed into it with your boss (11 hrs a day and no time for yourself), your dad wanting the blood out of you and the excesses of this world. Wow! The glasses you look out of must be black. I just want to see things the way our Lord wants us to see things. Sometimes we don\'t want to see things or sometimes the world is so stark, horrible and cruel that we see too much. I want to live my life to honor and glorify God in my body. We have to look after the body God gave us as we are His temple. May God give you the strength and wisdom to continue on despite the circumstances of your life. Wishing you God\'s hand always on you no matter where you go or what you do from Diane B.
