ideas about styles of communication

Everyone serves their own lexicon. What I mean by that I will explain below,

Some people rather than having a sense of their own emotional life and self responsibility about it instead worship the lexicon to an extreme. this may sound kind of judgey but it's meant to be just a qualifier.

Agreed to terms - the lexicon we use, they are kind of agreed to objective terms in the world

that we use and make navigating things understandable and safe for expression

Whether it’s religious life or business or sport

Or fashionable - slang

Or status - prestige items or luxury

or academic

It’s various things.

I just reached out to the elder. Stupid me. He reached out to me with some

ridiculous castigation he did of other members of the monastics.

I thought to and was compulsive about sending him back a pic.

And his response was assholish in his demeanour.

Ah well - live and learn - we each have to be strong enough to keep on keeping on in the face of things like that.

I have to know how to handle the duality of relationships - knowing we each come from a position

of different lexicons - and then be steady enough to keep moving forward and not spinning or

digging deep for answers as a result.

Have a great day!!

sorry guys - I had just written this so carefully - and it got deleted because of the way DS refreshes.
I hope this doesn't sound awful.

I really would love to hear your thoughts about this if it does or doesn't make sense.
Gosh this feels so sloppy right now

I think sometimes I have gotten so focused on my own terms that I lose a sense of the fact that I don’t have to live in a lexicon but I can know I have one and still go for what I want

"lexicon" is one of those words i have never quite understood. one of the definitions in my current lookup defines it as, "the vocabulary of a person, language, or branch of knowledge." on the rare occasions i have heard/read it, context gets me thinking it means something between dogma and esoteric. what does, "lexicon" mean to you in this context?

sounds like you need to maintain a safe social distance between yourself and father grumpy lump. randy newman springs into my head each time you write about him. "o-o-oh, it's lonely at the top."

Tonight he goaded me into insulting him, and when I did he was like ‘good for you!’

As an artist I think about it as each of us having a kind of vocabulary for our lives, from personal mythology to ways we approach relationships. It makes me want to create an artistic creation that discusses this in an artistic communication.

A dialogue with the viewers and the art. Maybe for them to question their own status quo and how they got there:)

your second comment on father grumpy lump reminds me of a convo i had with one of those monsignors i worked with during my catholic formation. this man was as irish as a leprechaun (kinda looked like one, too). his favorite pick point was, "cradle catholics" (people born and raised in the dogma) and their borrowed lexicons. (did i use the word right?) he picked on cradle catholics unmercifully, trying to get them to find sincerity in the parroted words. "being born and raised in a garage does not make me a car." he wanted them to learn what it means to be christian outside of church. the more promising the disciple, the harder he goaded. that "good for you" look verily beamed from his leprechaunish face.

he didn't have much to say when i accused him of being judgemental in his approach to this subject.
