just helped a friend and her son
my friend Penny, who lives here at the monastery but is not a monastic,
had a 3 year memorial for her sister - we all said prayers for her in church today.
Then after lunch we went up to the graveyard where we said The Lord's Prayer for her.
It was just the three of us - her son Simon, Penny and me. It was really moving
and beautiful. It felt very special though I never met Sylvia Nicole. But I asked
questions about her today just to honor her and my friends. It felt holy
and important. It felt like I got to know her too.

There’s a saying that the most valuable thing we can give another person is your time… and what you gave today was exactly that.
To simply be there, to listen, to ask about someone who was loved, is a rare kind of kindness. You helped keep her memory alive in a very real and human way. It was a sacred moment that stays with you and you always remember those.....hugs

thanks Janet. It really was a nice moment. We said the Lord's Prayer, We cleaned the grave of leaf litter and just
stood around and talked about her. I felt I was communicating with her energy there.
