I got a bag of wild bird see (requested) for Christmas so I could toss it on my balcony
for the birds. Me and Blue have been enjoying all the birdy action. :)
They come in waves, and just now there was a whole gaggle. But suddenly they
disburst. I have no idea what set them off - but I've been noticing this with Blue as well.
And then I thought about myself. We're all so fight or flight. It's really amazing.
I try and support Blue with his anxiety in different moments. Sometimes he will be sitting on my lap
and I'll shift my weight. But he senses that as something dangerous coming - and he jumps off.
He might have been abused because he is very sensitive to everything - but I find it
my charge and my job as parent to provide for him in different situations like this.
He's so great! I love him so much and I feel so lucky!!!

The birds are sensitive to wind change and so is Blue. Good for you to have this fun time watching the birds enjoy their food!
Every species on the planet has different sensory perception, as do the individuals within each of those species. I find it endlessly amazing how well stirred Nature keeps that particular pot. The potential mixes are literally infinite. We humans are being quite narcissistic when we call ourselves, "Diverse," but I also suspect we are not Nature's only narcissists.
Did you ask for a bird feeder to go with that bird seed? A ever-full bird feeder dangling on a sub-tropical patio can provide endless daytime entertainment, especially for cats. Streaming at its finest.
Lol i didn’t ask for a bird feeder I just spread the bird seed like chicken feed. I never go out there so it’s all good. Blue and I watch and indeed it’s like an extra cable channel. There’s a squirrel that cones to us as well:). Thanks Mid and Arfie!!!

Squirrels will visit bird feeders, as well. I love watching them buffle the baffles. "The Baffles" would be the various caps atop the birdfeeders to keep the squirrels out. I've yet to see a baffle the squirrels can't buffle.
