Just feeling sad...

Just dreading these next couple of weeks.  We had 2 Thanksgiving dinners last year, because the family 'didn't' want to be around Greg.  He took off on one of his JOURNEY'S that evening and I had no idea it would be his last and that I would lose him 3 months later...  :(  When he was little we would put up the tree on his birthday Dec. 1st, I don't even want one this year.  I want to sleep and not wake up til the holidays are over.
Then part of me realizes he would hate that, he and I love this time of year.

Just venting, was having a good day, til I got a call from a bill collector who was trying to find Greg and she was SO RUDE, I had to yell in the phone, that he was gone and good luck getting your money.  She kept going on and on, I finally HUNG up on her.  The phone rang a short time later and I was a little calmer and it was a different person, but I hated having to explain all over again, he wasn't here, but she was nicer and listened, but it's FUNNY, how hat one little call could turn my day to *&^(*^R&(R .

I have been lucky in that it has not happened that I have had to explain about my girls so I was caught off guard recently. A new hairdresser was making small talk asking about my children. I felt so sad having to say it out loud. I wish I had the presence to say how grateful I was for them being in my life. I hope I can do that.
Greg is at peace and I hope you can have some too. I do decorate for the holidays as it was a wonderful time and I enjoy reliving the memories.
Coping one day at a time and sending you vibes of peace. Love, Kathy

Do what feels right for you. I am sorry for the pain of having to explain that your son is gone...it is hard. It will get easier...it will get different...take care of you...Karen

These kinds of calls can be so very distressing and I\'m sorry that you had to be on the receiving end of that. :(

Just do whatever feels the most gentle and ok for you for the holidays. I have found that each year for me feels a little different because I am not the \"same\" as I was the year before so I try to allow myself a lot of wiggle room with all of it.

Understanding your heart and take care of YOU however that may look and feel.

Michael\'s probation officer told me I had to provide him with a death certificate. I told him to get himself LOL. He was a nice guy. An officer showed up at my Mom\'s door about Michael: she said he is dead. Case closed. IRS mailed me after my son died. I wrote on the envelope \"RETURN TO SENDER HE IS DECEASED\". Never heard from them again! I hope you have a nice Thanksgiving this year!
Peace.

Yes, I had similar calls after Doug\'s accident. And had to make calls to cancel his cell phone and credit card. So very hard to have to explain, say the awful words, stir up the emotions. As far as the holidays, do what feels right to you. Don\'t let the \"shoulds\" make you do something you don\'t want to do. Sending lots of love your way. Sue xo
