just checking in.............xo.

Hey Ya'll,
I played bed nester all day so far.  Watched tv, napped.........about 45 minutes ago I got up, showered, did a chore or two.......fed Annie & Rio dinner and sat down here to see what's going on!
The baking racks I ordered finally arrived, so yesterday I made the "holiday bacon bites".  I ordered six small racks which work perfectly on three cookie sheets.  I cut the bacon in half and then got busy putting a teaspoon of parmesan cheese on each club cracker.  Then you wrap 1/2 strip of bacon round the cracker making sure to cover each end.
A short while into making them my back alarms started going off.  But I decided it was "good exercise" for me to remain standing.  And I still think it is, but maybe I should have just sat my sorry tail down.  I don't always know what to do.......if we don't use it we lose it..............when we lose it cause it hurts then it's a lot harder to stay standing.  ack.
I reasoned that it would be good for me, so I pressed on.  Once all three cookie sheets were ready I slid the treats into a 250 oven for two hours.  Thinking they would be good to either take or give to the kids to take to the the annual family New Year's Eve dinner.  I tried them..........not my favorite.  I guess I thought they would be crispier.........they are savory.....it works well with the crackers and parmesan, makes a delicate crunchy savory snack.  But I only like bacon CRISPY.  I don't like it almost crispy.........or sorta crispy.  But then I thought maybe I would like them later if I tried them again.  silly right?  i put a couple on a napkin and gave them a shot of nuke heat.........nope, not my cup of tea.  So now they are all bagged up sitting in the freezer.  Doggone it, Pioneer Woman made them sound so goooooooooood.  And maybe they are, just not my thing.
So..........the rest of the story?  When I got up today I could barely get up.  The spasms and pain were through the roof.  I took a wee 2 mg tab of tizanidine, put two ice packs on my back, turned on the heated mattress pad and prayed for the conk out train to carry me off to slumberland.
It was like that all day long.........angry back, alternating ice & heat.  A long time ago I injured some muscles and I wonder if they will ever truly heal.  I know it's an uphill battle cause of the arthritis and other stuff, but I am too young not to be able to strengthen my stander upper musKLES..........working this out in my pea brain.  Once this heals more I need to break out the stretchy bands and pedal my little floor bike to nowhere.  It ramps up the fibro and the CFS PEM but it diminishes the pain in my back.  IT's a little issue we refer to as being between a rock and a hard place.
I'm glad to be up for a while..........my brain wants a chocolate pudding cup and a peanut butter cookie for dinner.  My logical self keeps saying no.  My brain says pop the top on that spray whipped cream......my logical self says slice up a pear.  Now that I'm thinking pear i want a grilled cheese on rye.  it's one of my favorite meals...............but if i eat it will there still be room for a pudding cup?
there may be problems in life in either direction, but this little lassie is just gonna focus on dinner........and then put her skinny little feet up and watch something fun..........with all due respect to the world and all that is going on, i plan to remain in checked out mode for all of this day.........i have an extra pudding cup if you want one.........take care, be sweet........keep warm and comfy........tucking you in with a prayer and a hug across the miles...........night!

I don\'t like bacon at all...crispy or no but I hear you Serce, you like what you like.
I think it was great that you made them for your kids though. or to take to the family dinner.
Ugh about those back spasms...but it sounds like your doing what you need to do.
I vote for a bit of chocolate and a pear...little bit of each you know..
I hope you rest well tonight Serce. and greenies

I\'m in totally agreement about the crisp bacon - wiggly bacon is not on my list of yummy food. I also strongly dislike pudding - but hey, that means there\'s more for you. I understand the issue with back spasms - I deal with them all of the time - I hope you\'re getting some relief and can find a balance between strengthening your back and pacing for CFS, meanwhile controlling your pain. Phew, it\'ll take some doing, but I think it can work.
