Just Busy
Been away for a few days, didn’t have much spare time to get on line. Some days just fly by and before you know it is Friday again!!! As I said in an earlier journal, I had 2 friends over yesterday for a rather gourmet luncheon. It was very successful !!! Only the weather man did not cooperate, it was sunny but the wind was ferocious. It blew a lot of branches down, broke my wind chime, upset the bird bath and a great number of other things. Needless to say we did not eat outdoors. A funny event, I had chosen just a light fruity wine to go with the meal, we always have wine in the house, my husband makes his own from scratch. However, we also buy some, so I checked the fridge and in the freezer were two bottles of this fruity wine. I was a little confused as to why it was in the freezer but then gave it very little thought. When the girls arrived we decided to have a drink while the meal was cooking. So I opened in the bottle and poured, the first glass was a little thick but I put this up to the fact that it had been in the freezer so I filled the others. Natalie, took a drink and said, " This is wonderful, it tastes just like maple. " Lena said the same thing. I was a little confused because it should have been a light fruity taste. Then I tasted mine and took the laughing, I laughed so hard I thought I would wet myself. They thought I was nuts, which sometimes I am. Once I was under control, I said it tastes like maple because it is maple!!!! Sometimes my hubby puts extra maple syrup in bottle for home use. Anyway, no problem I just got a new, non-maple bottle. These are the little stories that add to the good memories.Today I have to make two desserts to take to the Fathers’ Day b’que. I’m always assigned desserts. I guess it’s what I do best.Then tonight, my daughter is coming with her biological mum and some friends for a casual b’que. Her mum is home for a visit from British Columbia.Well, got stuff to do so I’ll close now and wish you all the best.Debbie

lol that is so funny. maple drinking.. i hope you had a great lunch with your friends even if you had to eat indoors.. i hope you are enjoying your new kitchen. we are still working on ours. i cant wait to finish.. hugs ..love you ...marie
