Had a very busy weekend with inventories.  Both were the same store.  Got up today at 5:30am.  I got out at 10:15am and got home at 10:30am to discover my landlord coming to my door telling me that my basement might be flooded.  He came in and we checked the basement and oh boy, what a mess.  Looked like the water receeded but it left a dirty, mucky mess.  Kevin mentioned if there was anything I needed he could help.  I set to clean it up.  I worked nonstop until 6:30pm.  I am totally exausted.  My landlord had to go to his mothers house, cleaning her basement.  I stopped for the night and am totally exausted.  Talked to him when he came back and turns out that the town sewer athority didn't have a backup.  The whole neighborhood had issues.  The girl across the street had her basement bathroom overflow with water.  I have at least 2-3 days more of work to do down there.  At least now it will be organized.  No more paper boxes (I threw out 13 bags of wet boxes and papers).  everything in 20 gal totes.  I checked the washer and dryer and it seems to be working ok.  I have an iscolating fan down there running now and seems to be helping out a lot.  the floor where the washer and dryer is now dry.  I am afraid to use the washer and dryer,  perhaps at the end of the week I will be able to do laundry like I wanted to.  I have wet clothes in laundry baskets waiting to be washed again.  I mopped and cleaned near the washer and dryer really good so i am ready to go once I feel like the washer and dryer itself has dried out.
What a day.

How to spend your weekend off, cleaning up a flooded basement, yuk! Actually you didn\'t have to do that, your landlord should have done it for you or hired someone to do it, it\'s the joys of renting! You should ask him for a humidfier, that will dry it out good, so no mold will form, mold just loves dampness.

Sorry for your crappy weekend honey, did you get any tornado\'s up there in buffalo? We had tornado warning all day today, scared me half to death as one was only about 10 minutes away from here and they were telling us to go to our basements! Which we did of course. You should unplug your washer and dryer to make sure the plug and receptacles dry out thoroughly before using them again. You said it, what a day!

Wow, you had a lot of stuff going on. I\'m sorry your basement got flooded. That is awful and all that work you have to do!! I wish I could be there to help you. At least it didn\'t do too bad of damage to your home! You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you have a lot better week ahead. Hugs

Work\'s starting to look good, eh? That\'s NOT healthy LOL. Sara & I have been together 6.5 years with only ONE flood (water usually goes around us), but that one flood took my records (mostly oldie collections) and our downstairs freezerator motor. I do know you should try to DRY the wet clothes or they will MILDEW!!! Cleaning them a FEW times might be in order. Hug Hug Hug Hug Gene
