Journal Entry for 6/14/11

So, at least I'm more stable now...I don't think it hurts that I'm busy a lot.
This week I'm not working that much at the pharmacy -- today was it -- in large part because of the material I have to cover for my legal ethics course.  I'm finding I can't take notes without my lappy because some of the concepts in the book are not explained well.  So far so good, but it's still taking me a good 6-7 hours to go through a chapter, and if I had to do more than simply prepare for discussion it would be longer than that.
A discussion in the class on Monday actually got kinda heated...we were warned ahead of time that the topics would be inflammatory (professor's language), but I never thought I'd actually see it.  It felt uncomfortable, honestly.  But the professor did well to step in several times and keep things from getting out of hand.
There is a part of me that is worried about a research project that will be revealed in two weeks' time.  I guess the concern is keeping up with the readings as I'm doing so.  Maybe I need to take a brief sabbatical from work when I get to that point?  I don't know.  At some point, I will need to be able to handle pressure, otherwise the fall semester won't hit off too well. Hmmm....
...
...I'll have to think about that, I guess.

I would not worry about the assignment to come. I think it is rather poor teaching skills not to lay everything on the table in the syllabus from the beginning. Just try and remember everyone else is in the same position as you. You can do it!!
