I am surrounded by people. At work, going out to the grocery store, taking kids to play ball. I have two kids that love me. Why do I feel so lonely? Am I living in a self-imposed type of exile?
Loneliness, the state of "feeling lonely," describes a human state or feeling involving isolation, or the feeling of disconnection with others, etc. Often accompanied by a sense of yearning for connection. Usually manifests through hopes of romantic redemption in the arms of another.

The way you\'re feeling can be a sign of depression - I still remember when I was depressed how alone I felt. I went to my first counselor and said \"I don\'t know what\'s wrong with me - I have a good job, a good marriage, children I adore, a nice house, nice car, I have nothing to be depressed about!\" Turned out there was a whole lot going on inside me that I wasn\'t even aware of. Not saying that\'s what\'s going on with you, but do consider the possibility.
Would it be possible to tell me one thing that was going on inside? I might be able to recognize.....something.
could be that all you\'ve been threw has caused this feeling. I do agree with PeaceN2you to see a dr. about it. this way you know what will help you feel better.
talking to a professional may help you get back on track.
p.s I\'ve heard you can be in a room with a lot of people and still feel lonely
