Joe update
He is still in ICU. He had the tubes taken out of his nose this morning. He is breathing on his own and talking - well rasping. He was very agitated and anxious afterwards. However, he was settling down this afternoon. He still can't drink so we wet a swab and clean out his mouth. He saw me with a coke and asked for some. I swabbed his mouth with it and he was quite satisfied. The nurse was hesitant but talked to the charge nurse who said it was fine. He should be able to drink tomorrow and if all goes well should be home on Monday - fingers crossed.
Thank you for the prayers.

Thinking of you often, hope it all will soon be over.
Sounds like things are moving in the right direction...still sending healing thoughts and lots of prayers your way. Hugs, Ann
Thank you everyone. You have no idea how much it means to me.
Joe is not home but he is out of ICU. He had a bit of trouble swallowing but had a swallowing assessment today and passed! Once he is off his IV antibiotics, he will be home. I am hoping it is tomorrow.
Prayerful and hopeful dear Marlene. I appreciate your updates as I\'ve certainly been thinking of both of you.
Loving care and the tightest of healing (((hugs)))
XO Joanie
So happy to read this news. Hugs to you both, Kathy
Since it\'s tuesday and I\'m trying to catch up on journals - I do hope Joe is home, resting and on his way to a speedy recovery. Praying for strength for you, Marlene. Hugs. Vicki
Joe came home on Tuesday. He is doing well, just a little weak in the knees after being in bed for a week. We went for a short walk yesterday and did some errands today.
I think I am starting to react to the stress of the last week. I feel like crying and am a bit shaky. But this too shall pass. Joe is home and well!!!!
Thanks again for the prayers and positive energy!
