Job Search
Two weeks into the job search and not too impressed. Most jobs expect you to jump through hoops for little pay. I've taken three test and I'm like, I used to do this back in the day when I was looking for a job in Information Technology. These were high paying jobs that was more career than job. Today I had one attempt to give me a test so I could sell mattresses. Please, it was a logic test and they had already had one question where they asked my age. I'm thinking, spend an hour taking this test, and never hear back from them because I'm no spring chicken.
I didn't do it.
Not worth it to just sit in a store where you may or may not get customers. They say there is a shortage of salespeople. The reason is because they don't pay you unless you sell. Otherwise you're a free worker.
Retirement is looking better every day.

I am beginning to think I won\'t find a job and am telling people that I am retired. I still need some extra money to survive. If I can make it to 60, I can apply for early retirement but you don\'t get the full benefits if you don\'t wait till 65. Right now it looks like I might have to if I can wait two years.
Its 66.5 for me. They want us to work forever, but no employer wants us. Ive had questions like, \"how long do you plan to work?\" Code for you\'re too old. I was shocked to find how many ask your age.
it\'s illegal to ask your age, religion, sexual preference and a few others.....but that doesn\'t stop them from doing just that....at 28 I had too much experience for a job I tried for, he didn\'t want to insult me by offering too low of pay, like I told him, offer and let me decide.....he didn\'t, in reality I think he wanted some one younger, more easy to control....and the older I got the worse it got....keeping you in my thoughts and prayers....hugs, Sandi
Bless your heart! I wouldn\'t want to be looking for a job!!
Retirement isn\'t bad at all -- as long as you can pay your bills. :-)
I like it.
