Janice NEW

Hello, my name is Janice. I lost my 12 year old little girl 4 months ago. She had cerrebral palsy from birth. i was so very very close to her. my pain is so bad, i think no-one in the world can understand this pain. i feel very alone, although i have such a supportive family. i don't know how to survive deep down. it is unbearably painful. is there anyone else who might be able to help me survive this pain? it is possible to survive this excruciating unbearable pain?

Hi Janice. I lost my 18 yr old daughter four months ago too. Only other mothers understand this pain and loneliness.

Beleive it or not you will survive the pain - it won\'t be easy & the road is long. I lost my son over 2 years ago...I didn\'t think I would survive - in fact I have often said I am not reponsible for anything I said or did the first year & am only taking partial responsibility for the 2nd year. All I can say is just take each day as it comes - put one foot in front of the other. I would try to do one thing everyday - some days it was just getting out of bed & dressed, others it was a walk around the block, or a very quick trip to a store because I couldn\'t stand a long outing. I know how you feel & am here to help & support you anyway I can...Hugs, Ann

your grief is still so very new. take one day at a time. with your daughter\'s condition, you are not only grieving her lost, but more than likely trying to find things to fill your time now, i am assuming that you were here care giver. the boy i knew that had cerrebal palsy lived to be 22, his case was severe. my grandson lived with us for his short life. my daughter worked afternoon and i worked days, his pap kept him for the couple hours that there was a difference. renee always said that when she had kids that i had to quit work to watch them. the evenings when i was to be caring for him was really really hard to come home from work to the empty house. we at ds are here for you. hugs jan

hello everone, its jan, just wanting to say hi. it feels like you are the people who understand all. i never imagined how it would feel to be a part of a support group like you. i just wanted to tell you that my jessy, who had cerebral palsy, kept me very very busy on cerebral palsy parent support groups. i became really involved, and went through years of coming to terms with the fact that i had a DIFFERENT NORMAL. that i was the mom of a cp child. and i did come to terms with it. there was SO MUCH INVOLVED i dont know if anyone can imagine. and its weird cos i never thoguht, in my wildest dreams, that one day i would feel i am not in that world anymore. even though i came to understand afew years ago, that jessy did not have a normal life span ahead of her, i understood. but my group was still my place and i never thought any different. and after jessy died i wrote and told them, and they were truly wonderful. and i made a decision that i would not leave that group, cos i had so much experience and understaning to offer. but as time is going on, i am feeling less and less able to deal with it, and less and less sense of belonging. it has been just over 5 months now, and ive realised that my jessy is no longer a cerebral palsy child. she has joined a new group, that is a group of precious angels. and it feels like my whole status has changed, from being a mom of a cerebral palsied child, to that of being a mom who has lost a child

Hello my new friend. I want you to know how very sorry I am that you too are now a part of this unbelievable world of mothers who\'ve buried children. There is no pain that could ever compare to this. I am a 21 month survivor so far....and I will continue to survive. I\'m here for you, to help in any way possible and to tell you that you too can and will survive this nightmare. Just as you needed other moms whose children had cerebral palsy to help you survive and understand and accept that part of your journey, you now need moms who know what it is to bury a child so you can continue the journey. We\'re here for you, and I look forward to knowing you and Jessy better.

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.
