It's been over six months now since Smokey died
It has been six months since my Smokey died. How could I have missed his anniversary date? On the actually six months date, I had my brother Don over for dinner and he distracted me. It was the best thing to get my mind of the anniversary day of Smokey's passing away and my great loss in my life. Smokey was the greatest love of my life. No one will ever measure up to that standard. I think I am on the upswing from inward healing from my loss of Smokey. I will ever forget the greatest love of my life. My standards are high and Smokey set the bar for everyone else that can come into my life. Smokey was unique. When I am ready to date, Smokey is the one they have to measure up to. I have high standards now. Now when I look at other guys, I compare them to Smokey. It is a natural thing for us widows and widowers to do is compare them to our late spouse. Smokey always talked about him dying before me but I thought he was wrong. I wanted us to die together. I was wrong. Smokey was right. When Smokey talked about dying first, I did not want to listen to him at all. Smokey always wanted me to fine someone else when he died. We shall see. It hurt Smokey when I said I probably won't want to find anyone else. This hurt him. After awhile I just agreed with him that I would find someone else. I think eventually over time Lord willing that I will find someone else but they will never compare to my Smokey. How can they? We are all unique individuals. All the best to everyone else who is in my shoes that is for sure.
