It's a beautiful morning.........

Mornin' Landlubbers!
It's gonna be raining all week-end, the prediction is 4-6 inches of wet stuff.  I went outside and listened for a while.........wind nipping at the soft green spring leaves.  The peony buds opened........four beautiful snowy white peonies........with dark red touches.

Brought them inside......two on the kitchen window sill & two on the fireplace mantle.........two by two makes me think of Noah, the ark, the animals.............and Bill Cosby.  Bill used to say (to God as he played the part of Moses)......."God, what is a cubit?"
This surely has the feel of ark building weather.........if you wanna help build the boat, please send your application to serce c/o DS..........i'll provide pizza, wings.......chocolate.......rum punch (be sure to bring your id's youngsters!!!)...wonder what Moses got from the delivery to go people back in the day?  i almost said yak on a stick but that sounds way wrong............w a y wrong.  solly cholly!
i did a few more errands yesterday afternoon.  made it to the bank, and so on.....good girl!  pat, pat, pat!
went for a mani/pedi.......since i was nowhere near my usual place i went somewhere new.  this shop was really busy...........gotta tell ya, i thought i was being so cool......see when i walked over to my chair, a teen boy was sitting there with his feet propped up......bright electric blue nail polish on his toesies.  Not something you see in rural GA every........well ok, any day of the week.  The words "thou shall not judge" are ringing in my ears.  I sit......the boy says to the girl nearby, "have you told anybody about the dare?"  she giggles......"Oh yeah......!"  He has a twinkle in his eyes.......says, "When this polish dries ya know I'm gonna kill you!" She giggles again, "I know......"  These two are brother & sister.........guessing they're 15 and 16 maybe?  She double dog dared him to get his toes polished.........this young man was big........football player man big.  Seemed to have a pretty good sense of humor.........!!!  When yer double dog dared, ya pretty gotta take the dare, it's part of the code of the south!
afterwards i went to wal-mart for milk, eggs, lettuce........but first i rode through their nursery dept.  it was raining.......dark outside..........sat under the section of roof made of canvas tarp & listened to the rhythm of the rain......surrounded by all those flowers and plants.  all by myself........allowed myself to dream.....what would it be like to have a greenhouse?  mmmmm, smells so good.
my dream was interrupted by a young man coming by with a blower to do clean-up.  we chatted for a while ........a well mannered soft spoken newlywed........trying to come up with ideas to make a little more money.   I suggested taking on odd jobs in general - how to get the word out.  He was a nice kid..........guessing he was 18, 19......so young.  Sometimes it's hard to realize what babies we were at that age!
(of course later on the drive home it occurred to me that he could do odd jobs here........duh. ......delayed braininess.)
Sara is performing at a local cafe tonight with some friends.  If you think of it send up a prayer/the good thought at 7 pm that all goes well!  She sings at church all the time, but this is a different venue, she's sort of nervous.  Niece Julie sent pics of the twins in puffy snowsuits eating May Iowa SNOW!  Other niece Jenny graduates from college today.......Big congrats to Jenny, so proud of you!!!!!
Right now I would love to dig into a plate of bacon, eggs and grits..........but I'm in girl scout mode, still working on my yogurt badge!!!  Adding yogurt back into my daily diet sure has calmed my cranky tummy down. Very cool.  Picked up four used books yesterday......a week-end of rain/napping & new stories to read.......very happy about that!!!!
OK........take it easy, I wish we all had fun rain boots and could go puddle splashing!!!!  I saw some at target in glorious rubbery poppy red........no, I didn't get any.......awfully cute though!!!  do have a pretty blue raincoat - flip flops are great for splashing......meet you outside !!!!  We'll splash like baby ducks!  Love ya........xoxoxo

Hello Serce....I like the colors of your journal. I live in Oregon, and rain is pretty prominent, its our winter. So your writings about listening to the rain is something I share and enjoy listening to.....too! Your peonies are so Pretty! Gorgeous!
I like going through Home Depot\'s garden area as well and so does Annie. Lots of birds flit back and forth in the shelvings and rafters. Chattering away.
\"Yak on a stick\"...LoL!!
Hope Sara\'s performance at the local cafe went well and that she enjoyed herself.
Enjoyed hearing about the brother and sister...and his sparkly toes!! I haven\'t heard the expression \"double dog dared\" in Ages!! My favorite saying from when I was a kid \"that Dog don\'t Hunt around here anymore!!\"
That is wonderful that your other niece graduated from College..good for her!
And good for you in sticking with your yogurt. though bacon, eggs and grits sounds good...though I have never had grits. Beautiful musings and thoughts as usual Serce. Thank You friend. Hugs xo
