It rained yesterday...

and the temperature dropped below freezing during the night. I was quite fascinated this morning when I went outside and saw ice on the tree limbs so I took some photos,,

absolutely gorgeous! I would rather have that than all the snow we have.

@ lilmissy7.......That's one of the reasons why I love the 4 seasons. It's not hot every day and it's not cold every day and they say variety is the spice of life! :)

@ billwfriend.....You got that right! My deck was a glass bottle....so slippery, but I have some stuff that I put on it that melts it. It's not salt but a pet safe alternative. It works great. Where you live, this kind of weather is rare so they don't sand and salt the roads like they do up here.

@ Atpeacemary.....It can be deadly, for sure. The last time I fell on the ice, which was last winter, I broke my ankle. but luckily, it healed very fast. I am much more careful now, :)

@ Mid....Yes and beauty is fleeting so I always try to have my camera ready, :)

@ jessekay...awww thankyou! I am happy to share!

@ kmhll447.....I have to agree with you there. Shoveling snow is backbreaking. :)

It's really pretty, but I found living in the Appalachian mountains that it wasn't pretty to drive on at times. Nice to stay home and listen to the iced over branches click like they do, bob.

here bob they do salt all the time.....and brine solution with beet juice as well....but they do not use sand that I know of......but your further north by quite a number of hundreds of miles from me too.....you are almost a Canuk....LOL

@ mujicaptsd.......and also, when the ice goes out on the lake, the pieces clang together and sound something like wind chimes. I could sit there for hours and listen to it. It has such a meditative affect and can put me to sleep so easily. The different sized pieces hitting together making different notes was such a pleasant sound to listen to. We don't get that every year. It depends on the lake and how fast it melts, but when we do, it's like a gift from heaven!

@ billwfriend....I have been to Canada many times.....Quebec is a great place to vacation in the summer and if you go, don't forget to visit St Anne's Cathedral. People from all over the world go there to get healed. It's an amazing place. I highly recommend.
