IT HAS BEEN A YEAR
It is exactly a year to the day when I last saw my little granddaughter when she was 5 yrs of age and her body was cruelly rammed into mine on the steps of a shopping centre in the town where I live by her other (paternal) grandmother when I tried to give the little one her Christmas present as they were keeping her away from us (she grew up in our home from birth and they always threatened they would "take over" later and boy, they did - even taking over my own daughter through their wealth and manipulations). That grandmother shouted "Get away! She is MY granddaughter!!" as she rammed the little one's terrified and still little legs hard into my body.
Oh I tried to get her charged with assault. That is where I went wrong. I should have cited "child abuse" as it is child abuse if a child is either held up to prevent an assault against someone or used (as in my case) as a living missile. When I went to Court, I asked the public prosecutor to change the charges to Child Abuse on the advise of (1) an attorney (2) the child welfare and (3) the police. She turned around and said "I do not work for your attorney. I do not work for the child welfare and I do not work for the police! I am throwing this case out of court immediately!" I broke into tears - not only was the defeat overwhelming but all I could think of was what my little granddaughter was feeling after this assault.
I saw her father thrust his knee into her abdomen while getting her dressed for nursery school at the tender age of 3 yrs of age while she sobbed and choked. She told me that her father had molested her at the same age in her baby way. All this I reported and went through all the legal channels I could. The guy was on cocaine, has borderline personality disorder and epilepsy caused by cocaine use.
Has anyone listened to my pleading for this little girl? No. Not even my daughter who has her rent, phone, fuel - everything paid for by this reprehensible and powerful, wealthy family!
A whole year has passed and I feel I have got nowhere. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever feel tender-hearted again. I know my heart is much harder than it used to be and I am still grieving and bereft. I fear I might be this way forever as nothing is changing. Why I ask God, why?

I would recommend you see an attorney and refile charges of child abuse, letting the attorney know who the judge was so that he can make sure you do not go before that judge again. And never cease praying.
I agree with Norske, don\'t let this go... at least reach out for your grand daughter, i wish you the best!! HUGS
My heart breaks upon reading your unbelievable post. You are your grandchild\'s advocate. Are there any other family members willingnto stand with you? There was a horrid case of continued child abuse in larwenceville ga that ended in tragedy. The little girl involved had a grandmother who faught everyone in the SYSTEM of lawyers, cps, and judges and police to save her grandchild. This may be your job now. To be smart and controlled and with the strength of God to do what needs to be done to protect and fight for your granddaughter. Fearless in the sight of the enormous hurdles you must overcome. Ask yourself this...is God speaking thru you to do what is needed? And if your conscience tells you so and thru prayer you ask for guidance..then DO that which is necessary. Smartly and emotionally controlled abiding by rules of morality and honesty. Study the court system where you are...attend court hearings in family court and learn the system...learn the advocates...contact advocacy groups or form one. Get busy and do instead of felling overpowered. Do do and do. The doing will inspire more action. And when you hit a wall, ask for guidance heavenly or otherwise and go around it. Your granddaughter needs you based upon your gut feelings. You. Can do it with the Lord\'s help. When I was a child I lived in an abusive household with a passive mom and a temper driven violent sunday school going father. Who would beat my sisters and i with a belt. Chase us down for any infraction...scream and yell..throw things at or mother and us. I remember times he would pick up platters of food at the dinner table and throw them into the walls of the dining room...times when we were older goung to restaurants where he would get angry and make a scene..embarrassing us to our core. I remember a time when i was 12 or 13 when he was trying to demean me and I stood up to him...he struck me so hard in the face that i flew across the room. I know of at least two occassions i remember. And my mother was useless. I would have given anything to KNOW my grandparents had stood up to him on my behalf. They knew he was a snake but did nothing. Christian people who knew better...but it was too hard...too messy ....too much for them. So they did nothing. Today since I am a Christian and I live my dad, it is in the past. He is 88 and God fearing and has suplanted the past with rosy memories of his wonderful parenting skills and loving care he shiwed me and my sisters. Far from the truth. He was a nightmare. He should have never had children much less a wife. But no, my mother had two sets of twins 13 months apart and then 9 years later my baby sister. He was mostly bad, but had sone good in him too. No sexual abuse just your garden variety of physical and verbal abuse. He was raised by a divorced mom and grandmother who had no business having a child to care for. They doted on him , lied to him, and helped him build within him a violent anger. Something he could hide and appear to be the finest of persons ...something he could control when he wanted too. He will face the Lord as will my mother and they will answer for their ill treatment of innocent little children. And yes I honor my parents and yes I love my parents but I have called them both out and i have told them they will answer for both cruelty and apathy. ...years ago that is. I have never been estranged. I had a weak mother and an abusive father. And there was nothing i could do but my best to grow up. So take a stand and get on with it. And know you did your best....and keep a recird of what YOU did so when your precious grandchild reacges adulthood you can show her that you tried to save her....and she can do with it what she wants. God speed and much affection for you as you endeavor to face this horrid debacle of a situation. Claudiahane

Claudiajane, I commend you on your comment above. I can\'t say it any better.
The crazy thing is that I HAVE tried every avenue - attorneys, the family advocate (twice), the child welfare (which is useless) and even my general practitioner. The attorney failed in the first respect by not adding us as \"interested parties\" under Act 32. When I asked why this father still had access to his child I was told \"because you have not brought it to the attention of the court\". So that was when I laid charges of assault at the police station and it did go to court - he was charged with sexual molestation but he had so obviously coached the little girl as he said in his affidavit \"I would never do such a thing!\" and when the little girl was questioned in court she responded \"No. My daddy would never do such a thing!\" - his exact words.
A psychologist told me to back off as she is afraid that this man will actually remove the child by taking her life because he is that selfish, determined and unbalanced.
God knows - they say \"Report Abuse\" and do not keep quiet, but this is what happens when you DO!
We live in a sick, sick world.
Having said that, I thank you for everyone\'s advise and empathy which means soooo much to me. God bless you all.
