Interview
Interview went pretty well. The office is really small, but the people seem nice and I am actually qualified for this job (unlike where I work now and know nothing) I have already gotten 2 calls from my recruiter saying that they like me and are waiting for final approval from the powers that be to hire me!! I am very excited, but am trying to temper myself in case in doesn't work out. I guess I just can't quite believe that I could get good news right now. The only downside is that there are 3 other women in my would be department and 2 of them are currently pregnant. . . yikes. They questioned me a lot about whether or not I was currenly preggo (isn't that illegal?) but were kinda cautious about how they asked. But I have decided I don't care I am going to go right ahead and take their job if they offer it and go right ahead and try to get pregnant. It just all seems too good to be true. Keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed!!!

Great news! OK...so I\'m putting all of the positive energy out there for you!!!!! You\'ll get the job and the pregnancy bug will rub off on you and you\'ll be number three in the office! Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you too :)
Oh my gosh that is AWESOME! A change in work environments will probably do you a world of good! Keep us updated!
Yey that\'s so cool! Really hoping you get the news you want. A fresh start would be awesome! Good for you x
Yay. Fingers crossed. And yes, you\'re right -- it is illegal for them to ask any health questions, and your pregnancy status is one of them. I have to hire people as part of my work, and this is a definite no-no.
This is so exciting, it\'s good news. Praying you get the position and that you ENJOY it. Love love.
Well, now that the initial glow of the positive interiew has worn off I am having serious second thought about this whole thing. I have read`that you should not make important and/or life altering decisions while you are under a lot of stress or grieving. I have been thinking about this type of senario for a long time, and am truly fearful of making a decision I regret because I can not properly sort out my emotions. My DH REALLY wants me to take this job, but I am afraid that by getting another new job would be too much change. I have jumbled the emotions from my MC so much with my job loss/job situation that I am completely at a standstill. I am terrified that they will offer me the job before I get to really talk this out with DH, who is now peacefully sleeping and oblivious. What would I say? I feel so ridiculous, I have never had this much trouble making a decision. I feel like it is so imprtant to make the right choice, but I am afraid I might not be in my right mind to make one . . . GULP.
I think you ought to go for it. You haven\'t been happy on your old job, & this could only be an improvement for you. If you decide you made a mistake later on, you could always look for another job at that time. However, staying in a job that makes you unhappy can\'t be good for your emotional health. I know it\'s tough to make decisions right now, & you\'re scared to mke a change while in your current frame of mind, but this really does sound like a positive change.
(((HUGS)))
Thanks for your response i really feel insane today! I guess my big fear is that the big reason I am unhappy at this job right now is because of my loss, and that if I was at this job and I hadn\'t had a Mc that it wouldn\'t feel as bad. I am sooo confused and petrified of making a wrong choice. DH has been absolutely no help to me and has even said that he thinks turning down the new job (if it\'s offered) would be a huge mistake that I would regret but that \"it\'s my mistake to make\" . . . thanks hun so supportive. I know he probably thinks I am crazy, for a variety of reasons, and I feel horrible for being this way; he has enough stress with his health right now without me piling on more.
He says that I would be letting down my recruiter who has been so helpful etc, I feel like he is trying to guilt me into taking the new job so that the whole thing can be over. I am so done today. They said they might call today or tomorrow if there is going to be an offer. I just feel completely sick. All I want to do is get in my car and drive and drive until all of this is far far away. . .
Sorry for venting & thanks for listening. . .
I once did a stress management course about 2 years ago and one of the interesting things I learned was that stress can make it virtually impossible to make a decision!! When I thought about it (I was in a very stressful job at the time and things were pretty lousy at home too) I realised that\'s why I\'d been to the same shop six times in one month looking to buy a washing machine and I couldn\'t make up my mind. I just couldn\'t commit to buying anything. The shop assistant must have thought I was completely mad. It was always the same shop.
I know that may sound so trivial compared to what you are going through at the moment, but it\'s useful to know what impact stress can have on you without you realising it. And having a job you hate + mc all at the same, well thats a big double helping of stress.
What I would say is though, if you keep asking yourself the question \"what will I do???????\", then just tell yourself \"I don\'t have to do anything yet because they haven\'t offered me the job yet\".
I tend to ask myself many \"what if....\" questions and generally my husband will remind me that \"we\'re not there yet\", that might not ever happen....just wait and see. That kind of puts things into context as there\'s no point worrying myself sick about something that might never happen. He is so right.
I agree with heartnbutterfly though - I\'ve had jobs that I\'ve hated in the past and it\'s frightening what it can do to you emotionally. So perhaps this job offer is meant to happen now for a reason. Ask yourself if this new job could be any worse than the one you already have and hate. Perhaps a change of scenery at work and a happier work place is actually not a bad thing.
I think you said it all in your original post -\" But I have decided I don\'t care I am going to go right ahead and take their job if they offer it and go right ahead and try to get pregnant\". Sounds good to me!!! There\'s no reason why you can\'t have both. Just do what feels right for you and don\'t worry about recruiters etc...
Sending you positive vibes and hoping that you get a reply one way or the other very soon!
Take care xx
