Internet issues
I'm having problems with the internet in my new apartment. For some reason my computer does not like Verizon. Anyone have any ideas? My computer says it has excellent strength when I use my wireless....But it's lying because I still can't access the net. When I plug directly into the modem, my computer says it's not plugged into anything. When I steel my neighbors internet signal [that's very low] I can access the internet fine, I just get booted off every 5 minutes. Is there something about Verizon internet that isn't compatible with some computers? Anyone...Ughh...Pretty much untill I get this fixed I will not be on that much

I hope you get this resolved soon! I can\'t give you any advice that would be helpful, but I do know how frustrating it is when they won\'t give work.
call the verizon 1 800 number for help.
thats what i do... they do a refresh and it works.
ive had the same about twice now.
or...
unplug everything, then plug it back in.
I\'ve tried calling twice now and each time I was on hold for over an hour before I got hung up on...lol

did you use your neighbors internet connection to type this? have you not been able to get on what so ever with your connection?
Yes, lol I\'m stealing my neighbors connection. But like I said above, I keep getting booted off every few minutes because it\'s a really low signal. When I try and use my signal [Verizon fios?] It says I have excellent signal strength, but it still will not let me access the web, it get a page that tells me I am not connected. How can I have excellent signal strength, but still not be connected? lol
maybe the cable internet isnt even connected yet. you need to call them and ask wtf is going on. if it was just a wireless issue youd be able to plug the cable into your computer and it would work.
its on their part. they havent registered your modem, so youre receive internet, but cant transfer any information to the web pages... which is why nothing online will load.
its basically like you dont have an IP address.
Something still tells me that\'s not the issue, but I will still continue to get through to someone on there help line. It\'s just my brother\'s internet is working fine. It\'s just my laptop that\'s being a b*****
