in a way it's the same
When I am at work, and I have invasive thoughts or troubling feelings, there is no choice
but to process those things, or ignore them, or to just cope with them...on the fly and get the work
done. Manage coworker and customer relations too..
When I'm home and need to do chores, that's one thing that's important to get done,
however when chores are over and my mind sets to spinning over a personality change -
spinning from a recent phone conversation -
or just a welling of emotion, then too I have no choice but to deal with them. I may initially
try to sleep or offer some self medication to cope with them...but I just thought at home
it's kind of the same. I need to stay above the water line and cope with my feelings...stay functional...
and also look back on... and forge ahead on those things that I really want to do - though they might
be clouded and obscured by the emotion.
An amazing thought today while at work was thinking about how life is a challenge.
You need to be tough and deal with the challenges and seize opportunity - to manage
self responsibility as well - to keep on keeping on - to keep taking care of life and keeping it going.
It's an arena made for the strong...and those are the stories
that are told in art and literature...whereas people with feeble minds and mental health
struggles, like me, do get to be a part of the world - the human experience - in work and play -
which is great - but they also have to reconcile with those stories in life that are told and lauded.
It really is like a foot in two worlds... I know everyone has faults and so in modicum we all
face those issues in a way. It's a blessing really to just be a part of the big party out there.
