In a Rut

I find I am doing the same thing over and over week after week.  I get up get on the computer play my games , clean house inbetween, then go to the store or bank then it is back to work again. The weather here is lousy so you can't get outside to do anything. I haven't seen the sun in I don't know when. I am beginning to wonder if the sun exist any longer. I am in my comfort zone and it just isn't comfortable anymore. There are things that I want to do but it will cost money and I am saving up as much as I can for my trip back to Kentucky.  Peter and I don't seem to be on the same schedule anymore, he doesn't get up until the afternoon and I am up early in the morning because I can't sleep as good as I use to. Go to bed earlier and our conversations consist of how did you sleep and what are you going to do today. He is off to his computer and I am on mine. Peter is out of work and on unemployment and I can't think of anything to cheer him up. Can't seem at this to get ourselves moving in a positive direction. I am hoping all of this will change very soon. We need a date night to just go out and have fun, I think I have gotten so concerned in saving money for the trip that I have giving up a very important part my relationship with the most wonderful guy I could ever meet. Any suggestions out there? Going for a walk together is simple and cheap but also impossiable because it is always raining. Going out to eat will cost a lot. Oh but a movie wouldn't be bad. Good funny movie I will have to check to see what is on this weekend. Well since I thought of that I have brighted up a bit, but that still doesn;t help me really help him. Since he has been on unemployment he feels pretty down, he is getting a few extra jobs coming his way on the home improvement. So as I am typing this maybe we aren't as bad as I thought we were. Funny how that works. I have had this pinned up anger and I don't know where that is coming from, it seems like everything gets on my nerves lately and I have no sympathy towards anybody. That is not like me at all. I jump down the throat of anybody that opposes me. I have to be right and other people are idiots. This is in my nursing career I am talking about feeling this way. Ok for example, the debate over the blue nappies vs the purple nappies. (Nappies are Adult diapers) the purple nappies are thicker and more absorbate the blue one re really crap. Well we have this one nurse that has it in her head that the purple nappies are causing rashes on some of the patients. Now the two patients I am talking about one has a vaginal discharge at times and this has been going off and on since she has been there so her so called rash is redness in the groin area due to vaginal discharge and good hygeine is the the prevention for that. The other patient has always scratched everywhere she can, not sure why she scratches whether she wears a purple nappy or blue. Matter of fact the last time I work I noticed she was scratching on her leg and the nappy doesn't go don that far. She sweats alot so that might be the reason she scatches. Anyway one nurse that I don't think very highly of has said it's due to the nappies and everybody seems to be going with that therory but me of course. The reason I don't respect her opinions I have hear from nurse's aid that she doesn't help them get people up in the bed to eat or help with the nappy change and when she does they are not washed, plus we got into a heated discussion over BD. I had ask her if she get a order for a medication and it says BD would she write the time on the medication sheet instead of leaving it blank. She just went off on me. Stating she has worked here for a number of years and has went to nursing school and knows what BD is and how dare me suggest she she doesn't. All I ask her is to write down the times in the medication book. So I think she is a idiot. For the Matron to take this Idiot word that the nappies are causes the rashes that are not even rashes is beyond me. I think the Matron my have lost her mind also. There have been several other things going on I won't bore you with at this time. Concerning other nurses but these nurses go to school for 4 years here and I just wonder what the heck they did learn. Because they don't sit the patient up properly in bed to eat and we have had more than a few people getting chest infections. I am thinking aspiration, they are thinking colds even though they have no signs of a cold. Well I think I have went on enough.
