If the Devil Could Cry

It's really rough right now, but this is apart of something i'm going to write... If the devil could cry, his tears would mimic hers.  Her body tense and weak and full of loss, she stood between her lover and the door. One hand stretched out in front of her, the other securing the latch at her back, anxious fingers, fumbling for control.“Please! Don’t leave.” She used to scream the words, but now they were nothing but a whisper, her eyes still crying out, begging her lover to stay.“You’re a mess, get out of my way” all afternoon, the same thing, and still only a few paces closer to the end, patience growing thin“No!” a crying so painful, the thought alone squeezes at my heart. Her lover sighs and takes a calmer stance. “I cannot live this way, I cannot love this way. When we first met, I knew you were different, I could feel it. You took care of me and supported me, loved me almost too much, and in return you asked for my soul, you asked to own me, possess me and dominate me, at one point, it was what I needed, but not anymore. I never realized how contorted and wrong your heart was, how being here with you had influenced my own mind. The only way to start thinking clearly again is to leave.” “I can take care of you.” her sobs choking her every word. “I can make this pain your feeling go away. Don’t you get it, we complete each other. You need me, I need you.  No, no, no.” She shook her head back and forth, looking down at the floor as though someone spoke to her there. “I won’t let you leave me. You can’t go. I can help you find this lost self, I know you, and I know you have doubts. I’ll let you do more things, I’ll let you do anything you want, and you don’t even have to tell me what it is.”Every step her lover made was done with caution. Her partner was unstable, unpredictable as always, and controlling right to her core. Even as she blocked the door, refusing to let her lover leave, it was clear that there would never be a change.
