I wish I had planned this better...

Some time ago -- I can't remember when -- I thought I could get away with doing three courses apiece for my last two semesters before I get my AS. Might have been last spring. That would have been better, considering that I work part time.

Well...so much for that. I miscounted. That's how I ended up in four this time. And I already feel that I'm paying for that.

Two courses are going to or already have involved group discussions...and I can't see myself working well in anything larger than a pair.

I know some of the tricks of using chapter summaries and the like, but they won't work for a couple of my courses (one is a literature course so of course that wouldn't work there, the other in environmental science, my Web course, which I have to do the reading on because I'm not the best critical thinker on it having no real knowledge to speak of on the subject).

Technically I'm on top of everything right now -- nothing is behind schedule -- but I already have the burnout feeling because it's just so much on the whole and I still work part-time besides. Starting to wonder if tossing what the courses entail on Outlook really was a smart idea or not. I mean, I guess it was smart because it gives me an idea of what's to come,. but I have to assume that everything is going to be covered (and for the Web course it's a lock since I have to do it on my own)...

...I have to ask myself, "David, why are you perpetuating your own panics?"

Oh man, college...your journal entry took me back to the days of 4 hour long audio production classes where the textbook was like reading german stereo instructions and the teacher was equally as incoherent - the guy told us on the very first day the average final grade in his classes is a D to try to scare us all into quitting - as someone who was an honors student, hearing that was scary, but I didn\'t drop the class. I managed to somehow pull an A - in spite of feeling like I had no idea what I was doing half the time in there.

Point is, at first it might all seem quite daunting, but that\'s probably your mind just psyching you out. When you get to feeling like that, take a few breaths and count to 10 in your head and just relax the best you can. Then take each step of each item you are trying to do for each class you are trying to take one at a time. You can get through it largely unscathed; you just have to put it in your mind that you can get through it and succeed and shoo away the panic.
Good luck on your semester, David. I believe in you!

Because David, you are stronger than you realise and you can get through this. You have developed coping strategies that will allow you to get through this semester. Yes it will be hard. get the wall planner and get things figured out.
