I thought we were family here
After everything I have gone through with my own sister and her stabbing comments, especially meant to be painful, I find it distressing to see the same thing here where I came to find an understanding family. Instead, I seem to find those who take offense quickly and stab back repeatedly instead of looking beyond the words at the pain that precipitated them. For pete sake people! Don't think more of yourselves than is necessary. The person is in pain and we don't need to be justifying ourselves, we just need to be empathetic. After all, isn't that what we want? I have noticed a pattern by some over time and I haven't been on here long so that tells me something I don't like. I'm no spring chicken and I've raised my kids already. I can't appreciate or condone junior high attitudes in adults. It's time to put it to rest.

I simply \'pass over\' comments that obviously are from \'non-thinking\' and often \'non-feeling\' humans. They are obviously seriously mentally ill and perhaps at best need to be pitied. Beyond that I am no longer am able to spare them enough time to even given them any thought.
I\'m sorry you have been exposed to this. DS takes seriously the protection of its members and will have no issue in banning those that do not follow the \'rules of the road\' in regards to good behavior that is supportive. Whenever we run into behavior that has obviously inflicted needless pain and suffering we need to report it and DS support has given us a very good way to do that here: http://www.dailystrength.org/help/report-abuse
Keep DS beautiful and KICK OUT THE TRASH.

I understand and wish you all the very best :-) xxxx
Since I consider my fellow DS users family, I treat them the same way as I do my own family when they do or say things that upset me. I can either say something privately in a kind way or if that fails, choose not to reply to comments I feel are deliberately unkind. BUT, I would never consider them trash no matter how much they hurt me, not even my Father who threatened to murder me and my son when he was 2 years old and up till his dying breatth, never apologized. Even though my step mother didn\'t call me when he died, I showed up at his funeral, sent a beautiful arrangement of roses with a sash with the word \"Dad\" on it and paid my respects. I think we all owe that same kind of respect to one another.
I have to agree. I don\'t like to participate in the back stabbing underhanded comments that are made here or anywhere. I have enough trouble with that junior high attitude at work! I prefer to comment when I feel necessary and if I can\'t think of anything nice to say or can\'t be supportive I simply don\'t say anything at all. Some days things don\'t hit me well and I don\'t feel like being kind. On those days, I am very quiet. I have ranted in my journal from time to time. That is the extent of my rude ways...
Have a good day!
