I think some people are just idiots

I work at this nursing home, well I have had to work two saturday night for staffing reasons. Both of these Saturday' s clothes have been stacked up for us to dry. It seems like two days of washing. Yes I went to nursing school to wash, hang out and dry clothes. Well the matron is too much a cheap skate to let us use the dryer, so mwe have this stove which is called a oger(I think that is the way it it spelled) well I have never seen one of those until I moved here, anyay we have to dry the clothes from the previous night, then we wash the clothes from the days hang then out at night then if they aren't dried we put them on the oger to dry.....Last night we spent all night drying clothes and still didn't get all the clothes dry. So I was telling day shift about the clothes and ask them if this happen every saturday, one of the girls that has been orking there for awhile says she thinks the people that work the shift on friday doesn't do the drying of clothes which means it all get puts on the people that work on saturday. This is my last saturday working but of course I have to take up the cause because no one else will. I think the idiots that have been working there for a long time just haven't quite figured out how to work the machines. I mean give them a break they have only had 10 years to figure out how they work, Right???? One of the washing machines is old and you have to put just a half load of clothes in or they come out very wet, the other washing machine has a spin cycle you can set yourself and if you put it on the highest setting the clothes are more dryer when they come out. Simple as that.....No you got these lazy idiots that don;t seem to notice wait these clothes are ay to wet to hang up lets give them another spin unstead they hang the clothes up, which takes forever to dry not their problem because they don;t have to work the next day. Well come monday it ill be their lazy ass problems because I have pics and all. I am tired of doing idiots job while they probably sleep all night.  There is also the breakfast we have to make and give out to the patient in the morning. We have enough time to do that feed the patient and bring down the tray wash up and set up the trays for the next breakfast. The other two nurse on night shift barely have enough time to get the trays up to the people. Now I had a day shift nurse from India I think I scared her to death this morning. She told the nursing aide I was working with last night that we should feed this women when we feed the rest of the patients, so the nurse's aide told me. Well we tried to give her breakfast and she didn't want to have anything to do with it so I jsut left it for day shift to do. when I approached this Indian nurse about it, she said the other nursing has no problem with doing it. I told her well she could have her choice, we will feed her, not bring down the trays and not do the wash up like the other nurses do( which day shift is suppose to be doing that anyway) We just do that to be kind to the day shift and we have time to do it. Like they are the great nurses because of feeding this one patient....give me a break...sorry for the misspelled words because I am too tired to go over it to even see if it makes since. Going to bed now...Got two more night shifts ahead......Thanks for talking the time to hear my ranting about all this meanless stuff but I do feel better now that I have gotten if off my mind..... Good night even though it's day here.....No wonder I am so confused all the time...LOL

I worked in a nursing home for 5 years as a cna, it is a very hard, backbreaking job. I don\'t blame you for being upset. When you have to go in and do the work that the shift before is surposed to do it makes your twice as hard and you can\'t get your shift duties done on time and then of course the residents always suffer for it in the end.

Don\'t you wonder some times if all the education is worth it. You can only do what you can, Just let it go, not worth getting a grey hair over. Sleep now. Love and hugs Cathy

Cindy,
OMG I can not believe all the stuff you have to do. What is the patient ratio? I am trying to digest this info ...are all the nursing homes like that? Hugs, Inga
