I think I might get a cat

I really need a batman to my robin. Or a robin to my batman :) hehe

But I think if I get a cat it'll 'be about' him or her for sure.

I went to work today - things were alright - I struggled with myself - but I got a lot done

and then end of the day came and I left. I was so whiped. I could barely say good bye to people

and I was just needing to hibernate. I feel bad, cause I kind of snubbed a coworker at the end - I was so

tired - she looked at me from 'a far' as I left and I just was so tired I shut down and left.

I drove home and when I got here I indulged in a lot of goodies I bought a couple days ago or was it yesterday.

Yes it was yesterday. My days blur a bit.

But as I sat here, with the tv on - I started to yearn for being 'out and about' in the world. So, I didn't really

want it, but I went to the bakery and got a coffee and cake to get my social contact. I think though

it's probably time for me to get a pet. I have to work the numbers and see if pet insurance is a viability. Because

I can't afford much - and so I just have to see what the options are for me.

So as I was sitting here before going out - I started to think how lovely it would be to have someone to adore -

like a cat or pup.

But now that I have come home, even more I am thinking that a partner aka 'wingman pet-pet', would be nice.

I am so frugal because I need to be, I don't know if it's viable - I need to save money - and there's that whole commitment thing. But I think once committing to an animal I will. I don't think I can be any more home bound than I already am - so leaving the pet alone, which is a concern to me, probably won't be too bad. I go to my parents' place and work and yoga a lot. But we can't be around 100% for the pet. Any pearls of experience and wisdom on this topic would be appreciated.

Anyways - other things are on my mind right now and given the option of thinking A (bad) or B (good)

I think I will choose B and live my life with an attitude of gratitude and self value. Sometimes we gotta

be self contained.

Talk soon,

Get one of those that look like a tiger...forget the type. My one friend has one. Like lepord spots.

if that's the kind I find at the shelter then so be it! But I have learned my lesson, I need to allow the cat to come to me.
And so the pet who choses me will be the one I bring home.

I heard that cats choose their owners.

I think I heard that from Kat (oldercper) Kat said her cat chose lol

it's true..otherwise the chemistry is all off. My birds (when I had them chose me) and my cat (when I was a kid) chose me.

Yeah my cat definitely chose me. I'd look up whats on the shelter's website pick a few in the age range you want and go there looking to meet a few. They usually have several in a room. You'll know which cats are "people-friendly" and which are more feral.

If one comes over and rubs against your legs or winds around your feet or constantly gives you attention and will let you pick it up and and give it pats and scratches, and it purrs and seems content.....that's generally an indication the cat chooses you.

I wouldn't get too young a Kitten, they can be a lot of stress and work.

Also just really make sure this is what you want. Socks is on me from the minute I walk in the door from work until I wake up the next day, she sleeps with me, hangs out in whichever room I'm in, including the bathroom and just is generally always there. I don't mind, I'm used to cats have always had them.

But it doesn't matter if you're having a bad day, or are depressed, etc. you still have to feed and clean the litter box and take care of the cat.....

Take care and happy kitty hunting.

Am I giving away my "Dog Person" rating to wonder if a cat would only allow you to be the Robin to his/her Batman while reserving the right to eat Robin on the day she/he doesn't feel like playing Batman? Just wondering. . .

The big for sure is that I get better therapy from my critters than I get from therapists. My favoritest therapists aren't even offended when I say that to their faces. They think so, too.

:-) there are some kind loyal cats out there. I had one as a kid. She would follow me outside when I would go for a walk and stay with me walking for a bit.
I totally need good pet therapy. It would be good for my health long term I think! :)

Who would eat a cat???????

A dog and/or a dog person. 'Specially if it was munching one of our chickens.

I had a cat that used to walk with my dog and I. She had my dog trained her first day in the house. She needed a few hours longer to train me. Humans are so-o-o-o dense.

No doubt in my mind that pet therapy is top shelf remedy for whatever ails ya.

I'm a cat person....and I can honestly say I'd never eat a dog....I'd shoot it...not eat them...then again meat is not my thing really.

I identify with cats very well and typically think that most humans are soo-ooo-ooo dense...and many are just generally idiots. Me and my cat get along just fine.

Dogs slobber and constantly want you to throw crap at them and they are always dirty....yeah I could easily live in a world free of dogs.

My sales associates dog has her convinced that it is deaf...funny that damn dog does everything I tell it to, because it knows I'm not screwing around...Cats are not the only ones who train their owners....I work at a Company where pets are welcome to come to work with their people.
