I stopped...
I finally stopped. I don't know my new way of coping tho. I need to find a new way. I will not hurt myself anymore.
Before when I had anxiety I would bite my nails. I finally don't anymore. Then when I stopped biting my nails I would dig my nails into my skin.
What should my coping mecanism be? I dont want to hurt myself as a way of coping.

First of all, it's amazing you want to stop with hurting yourself. You don't deserve to be hurt. I understand that such coping mechanisms can provide you with relief, but they create more damage in the long-term, which you know.
I'd advise you to find out what works best for you. Maybe talking to a friend or a trusted adult would help you, or maybe journaling.. Explore different coping mechanisms and try to find out what works best for you.
Anyway, I'm so sorry you've been hurting so much that you hurt yourself. Sending you hugs if k

Is there something that is bothering you to make you do these things to yourself?
Maybe talking to a trusted friend would help.

I was hurting myself. It isnt anything major but I want to stop. I need a way to cope when out in public. I journal when I am home. I know I can always talk to you guys but I need to figure out how to cope in public places when my anxiety is high or when I am having a panic attack. I try to hide it the best I can but its starting to get harder.
Sounds like you have social anxiety.
When you feel anxious do some deep breathing. That will help you to relax.
Try to stay in the present. And think positive.
Talk to someone you can trust. Tell them how your feeling. Your Pastor at church would be good.
Hope this helps.
Thank you. I will def try to talk to someone

I'm very glad you've made the decision not to hurt yourself. You deserve to be treated with kindness!
Cali made a good suggestion regarding deep breathing. When you are experiencing a panic attack in public, it can help to ground yourself. Deep breathing is a way of doing that, because you are focusing internally on your breath, rather than on things external to you. Perhaps the easiest type of deep breathing you can do is called "box breathing." (Imagine a picture of a box with four sides.) Everything you do, you do for four seconds - Inhale while counting to four; hold your breath for four seconds; exhale while counting to four; hold with your lungs empty for four seconds. Then, repeat the process until you find yourself feeling a bit calmer.
In addition to deep breathing, it can help to ground to the present by using all five of your senses. Wherever you are, list off in your mind what you see, smell, hear, feel, and taste. Some people find it helpful to carry around a pretty stone or another item they can touch when they are feeling anxious; others keep a piece of candy they can taste.
Finally, you could try visualization. Imagine a place where you feel completely calm and relaxed. Go there in your mind and identify what you see. My safe place is a library, so I imagine what the books look like, how they smell, the sound of pages turning, etc..
Of course, where you are and what you're doing will dictate which of the above (or other) coping mechanisms that you can use.
Regarding Tatum, enjoy the time you have with him right now. He makes you happy, which is great! Worrying about the future will only make you miserable. Just be careful not to get so caught up in the wonderful feelings that you miss any red flags that may (or may not) appear. Hugs.
