I Miss My Smokey even after 1 year & 5 months!
I miss my Smokey even after one year and five months later. Smokey was the love of my life. We were compatible in every sense of the word. We were not like John Gray said Men Are From Mars And Women Are From Venus. We were on the same planet. Smokey had a good heart, was kind, caring etc. We had the odd differences which made our relationship exciting. We argued once in awhile. We loved one another immensely. There will be no other like my Smokey.
Dave is nice but he is not my Smokey. Dave has a few differences that neither my Ex-Gary nor Smokey had. Dave is a patient man. Dave wanted to meet my family. He did. Dave wants to visit with Gerald and Sheri. It is in the planning stages. Dave wants to have dinner with Lisa and Grant. Still working on that one. Dave has accepted Don as who he is with Asperger's Syndrome and all. Neither Smokey nor Gary wanted anything to do with Don.
I do like my lifestyle and being independent. If I had a job, it would complete my life. I am not in a hurry to live with any one or plan to marry. I am taking a breath, enjoying my independent lifestyle and the people in my life. We shall see were God is leading me. Life is a journey not a destination. Let's enjoy the journey that we are on now. It is not the one that we planned with our spouses or loved ones that have passed away. It is a different journey for us to learn from it and enjoy it. It is not easy. It hasn't been easy for me even after one year and five months.
All the best to everyone on the same journey that is different than what we had planned with our significant other. from Diane Baillie
