I MADE IT!

I am officially off work for 9 days!  YAHOO!  I am so ready for this break!  The only day  I am planning on going into Springfield is next Tues.  I have 2 things I MUST complete during this time off.  They are, cleaning the DUST RABBITS from under my bed and going through nearly 9 mos. of paper on the kitchen desk.  I will also, in the morning, start opening Scott's bedroom door.  At least I will try.  I was sick, again, yesterday.  Better today.  I was able to go to the art museum after work and view T******'s art along with all the others.  He took a Best of Show.  There were only 9 of those given out of several hundred works of art.  It was AWESOME!  His mom was so proud and video-taped him as well as photos.  She nearly cried although she didn't quite understand his art.  It is abstract but beautiful.  There were some amazing pieces there.  It was so cute when he saw me at the museum.  He "ran" up to hug me even though he had seen me just 2 hrs. before.  I guess it was just seeing me in a different place.  It made me feel good, anyway.  I am also glad for a break from the other para in the room.  He makes me tired.  He throws tantrums (really) and just doesn't "get it".  Workng with Special Ed. kids is just "different".  Either you can do it or you can't. Either way is ok, but if you can't, you should maybe rethink things.  Of course, that is part of the problem.  He thinks way too much.  His heart is in the right place, I think, but he lets his mind interfere.  Chris and his girlfriend Kristin went with me to the museum.  He and I met at his house and he showed me his remodeled bathroom.  It looks great and no more mold!  He did most of the work himself.  We talked a while about Scott a while, then went to dinner.  It was nice to have my son to myself for a couple of hours. Kristen met us and after they finished looking, they headed off to the circus.  She has never been.  Strange to me...she is 32.  I don't care if I ever see another circus.  We went nearly every year for many, many years.  Anyway, she was very excited.  She even had plans to ride the elephant!  That part I love as I love elephants.  Tonight I am indulging in my computer time and a rum and coke. (or 2)  Ahhhh....the beginning of a break!
