I MADE IT!
I am officially off work for 9 days! YAHOO! I am so ready for this break! The only day I am planning on going into Springfield is next Tues. I have 2 things I MUST complete during this time off. They are, cleaning the DUST RABBITS from under my bed and going through nearly 9 mos. of paper on the kitchen desk. I will also, in the morning, start opening Scott's bedroom door. At least I will try. I was sick, again, yesterday. Better today. I was able to go to the art museum after work and view T******'s art along with all the others. He took a Best of Show. There were only 9 of those given out of several hundred works of art. It was AWESOME! His mom was so proud and video-taped him as well as photos. She nearly cried although she didn't quite understand his art. It is abstract but beautiful. There were some amazing pieces there. It was so cute when he saw me at the museum. He "ran" up to hug me even though he had seen me just 2 hrs. before. I guess it was just seeing me in a different place. It made me feel good, anyway. I am also glad for a break from the other para in the room. He makes me tired. He throws tantrums (really) and just doesn't "get it". Workng with Special Ed. kids is just "different". Either you can do it or you can't. Either way is ok, but if you can't, you should maybe rethink things. Of course, that is part of the problem. He thinks way too much. His heart is in the right place, I think, but he lets his mind interfere. Chris and his girlfriend Kristin went with me to the museum. He and I met at his house and he showed me his remodeled bathroom. It looks great and no more mold! He did most of the work himself. We talked a while about Scott a while, then went to dinner. It was nice to have my son to myself for a couple of hours. Kristen met us and after they finished looking, they headed off to the circus. She has never been. Strange to me...she is 32. I don't care if I ever see another circus. We went nearly every year for many, many years. Anyway, she was very excited. She even had plans to ride the elephant! That part I love as I love elephants. Tonight I am indulging in my computer time and a rum and coke. (or 2) Ahhhh....the beginning of a break!

You deserve the break and I hope you make the most of it. I\'m totally with you about some people not being able to do the job, even though they try. We have some like that where I work too. Super nice people but just not cut out for the kind of work we do. I\'m glad you got some time alone with Chris. Have a peaceful, comfortable weekend. Love and hugs, Dawn
My daughter starts her break from school today too. She\'s as excited as you are. Just to have the time - to do what you want to do - without a time schedule should be nice. Make sure to rest - and go at your paper work slowly - don\'t overdo anything - you\'re just getting over a nasty virus - and need some rest before you go back to work. Thinking of you - hope you enjoy the weekend. Love & hugs
YEAH!! Enjoy your time off. You do so much for others, it\'s time to do something for YOU. What do you plan on doing for yourself? I would love to know. *Hug* Adrianne
Enyoy!Enjoy! I am also on break and I have a few have to\'s and the rest is mine to do what I want...which is go to the beach! Love to you...Karen
You are one of the unique women who can work with special ed children. I could barely handle my own kids. I\'m so grateful for wonderful, kind and patient people like you that work. I\'m happy you got to spend some time with your son. One on one time is hard to find sometimes. I had to giggle when I read about the circus. My hubby would never go to the circus. My kids have maybe been once in their whole lives. Last weekend Austin my 18 year old told me he was going to the circus. As he told me he rolled his eyes like \"how boring\". He said his girlfried Meghan had to ride the elephants. Anyway he got cute pics of her riding the elephants and camels. Enjoy your time off. Take care. Love Robin
